SlowbieOne
Unfortunately my map is almost 2MB right now, so scratch that. Yes func_rotate is available in MP. If you wanna send me a little example map of a little catwalk attatched to a strut and make it fall like the movies, my e-mail is roncoallstar@aol.com. I don't mind how long it takes you because I just ran into some more problems that will most likely take me a few days to sort out anyway. So if you have time to whip one up, I would be much obliged. Skellington
Dammit...I could show you exactly what I mean, if my scanner weren't dead. I was working on the version of the Throne Room for the SWTTC for MotS...did a ton of research and had drawn up some perspective views of the struts that I was going to work from. Maybe I can whip something up in photoshop to show you what I meant.

SlowbieOne
Sorry, haven't had ANY time to finish my map. I'll finish it up whenever time allows. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend.
Pedantic
What is this microphone you speak of?
Skellington
Pedantic, if you look over the Emperor's throne in Jedi, you'll see cylindrical devices which look suspiciously like boom mikes hanging from the ceiling. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't...I actually just ran across an early production sketch of the throne room which shows them. Actually, I think the throne was originally supposed to be SUSPENDED from them.
SlowbieOne
My Throne Room is finished other than a few small things. I had to sacrifice some details from the actual Throne Room for the sake of Gameplay and FPS, but it's nothing much. Also, it seems I won't be adding the breakable catwalk since I don't know how and I just don't have the time to sit there and try things out. If someone wants the give it a try I'm still open to it.(ahem, Patchx) . If not, maybe in a Special Edition or something, because I just want to release this thing already. Here's a shot that shows most of it. I think I need to adjust the lighting in some areas. Comments/suggestions are welcome. http://www.theforumisdown.com/uploadfiles/061602/THRONEROOM13.jpg However, I have run into a HUGE problem. This is my first attempt at mapping and I REALLY wish I knew what I know now 2 months ago! I have been sucked into using CSG Subtract to make my windows because at the time it was the only way I knew how. I'm afraid I have come much too far to turn back now. First, take a look at this screenshot I took from the SINGLE PLAYER version of my level: http://www.theforumisdown.com/uploadfiles/061602/THRONEROOM11.jpg Now take a look at the same area of my MULTIPLAYER version: http://www.theforumisdown.com/uploadfiles/061602/THRONEROOM12.jpg Notice anything different? Of course you do. The question is, why in the heck does CSG Subtract show up in MP, but not SP? I have tried going back and aligning all the textures up with one another, but nothing. I'm guessing it has something to do with lighting because it wasn't like this before I added my lighting. Please note that this is like this for ALL 7 of my windows all the way around even though you can't see. If I can't solve this dilemma, I'm afraid I may only release a SP Luke vs. Vader version of this level because it looks kinda crappy with those CSG Subtract lines showing up. Needless to say, that would just suck badly since I spent the last 2 months working on this sucker. It wouldn't exactly go to waste, but I wanted to use this as a MP level primarily. Now I turn to you fellow JK2'ers with hope that one of you out there has a solution to this problem, because I haven't the slightest clue.
Jango_Fett91
Do what Patchx said about a Sp level of it. And outside the throne window should be the battle of endor ships!

Klorel
are you still working on the falling platforms? maybe when a support breaks, you could have it rotate like 30 degrees pivoting on the non broken end, and then when that end breaks rotate 30 degrees the other way so it falls to the floor totally?? that would make it the most realistic level yet. perhaps look into function train or something also maybe a transperent grate shader on the walkways. otherwise, its perfect, great job. Easier said than done Klorel. I've tried to make it do something like you said, but I just can't seem to get it to do what I want it to. I am gonna make the grate transparent, I thought that texture could be transparent but I guess it can't. I just have to find a sufficient grate texture. Also, can anyone else actually see those pics? I checked again and I can see them so if you can't I'm sorry I don't know what the problem could be.
Grets Sirob
I can't... And to make them see-through, you hafta make the entire brush "nodraw_solid" and then apply the grate to one face. Raaarwwaag!
Skellington
They show fine if you cut-and-paste. Any success yet on solving the subtract problem?

SlowbieOne
I still haven't been able to fix the problem. Actually, I haven't even TRIED to fix it. I have no idea what I could do, so I don't really wanna sit there and waste me time. Someone suggested I remake my windows (making them took a few days in itself...), but I won't be doing this because I'm not gonna remake them again, just to find out I'm having the same exact problem I'm having now. Other than that, the level is finished. I have been having lots of fun spawning Vaders in Single Player, but I have barely played in MP, the CSG Subtract lines are very annoying. Unfortunately until I figure this weird bug out, I won't be releasing the level. So again, if anyone has any clue how to fix that I would really appreciate some suggestions. I think I did a pretty good job and it would be a fun level for everyone to play IMO. I would hate to see it go to waste. Alternatively, if someone wants to remake the windows and see if that helps, I may be willing to send you the map. I just don't have the time:(. Even if I can't fix that MP problem, it won't be a total loss. The level is perfect for having some crazy saber duels in Single Player.

SlowbieOne
You guys haven't read this whole thread have you? I'm aware that CSG Subtract is evil, but it's too late. No use crying about it. Also, I can't think of a way to make the windows as detailed as they are now using just patches, it seems CSG Subtract is necesary for my windows. I didn't have this problem at all until my last compile when I added all of the lighting. Is it possible that somehow my lighting caused this, and if so do you think I should try re-ligthing the place? I would like to be sure though because it takes hours and hours to get good lighting. Grets Sirob
Now, I'm not sure about the lighting, but about csg... It's not in my opinion, evil, it's just that the clipping tool is much more efficient. I think I'll use it all the time now... Oh, and would you mind telling me what's wrong with the hollow tool? I'd like to know, cause I've used it for just about everything I've made so far... You will die, painfully.
Skellington
Well, since I never have much time to mess around with MP, I for one will be eagerly awaiting the SP release!
