Eric the Fish
Hey all. I've been having this problem with the sky textures not showing up in sp. Theres only bright, whitish light. It works fine in mp though. I am using a voodoo 5 , so i know its a problem with that. Is there a way to fix this, since it seems to work in mp? It used to work in single player before i reinstalled the game. Can't get it right now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Eric the Fish
Sorry guys. I am also using Windows 98. I am debating whether to install WickedGL or not, since i have zero problems except for the sky, and im afraid to screw around with it anymore since ive got it running fine. teleguy
Could be a settings problem. Select "normal" quality in video options or try the console command r_fastsky 0 ( you open the console with shift + key left to 1) .
Purple Monkey
The WickedGL drivers do give you a perforamce increase and with such a old card thats needed. I was able to change my res up to 600x800 from 640x480 with no decrease in frame rate.
Nucas
i had the same problem. it is indeed the r_fastsky cvar doing it. i assume it is because i was testing settings and instead of setting it up to high quality when i finished i just did the resolution and color depth and whatnot manually. Eric the Fish
Oh ok thanks guys. I used the r_fastsky 0 command and that fixed it. Thank you very much all.
