Three questions about Vader?

Funnily enough.. Vader is dutch for "father" *HINT HINT*

And then about the saber fights, as Lucas said "All the original trilogy had to offer was a bunch of crippled old men waving lightsabers about and youngsters who were trained by these old men." So we can't really blame Luke for being crap.. he had no one decent to instruct him in the ways of fast and furious saber combat.

Still, is there a reason he chose that name? And for that matter why Darth Maul choose the name Maul and the same question goes for Sidious and Tyrannus.

Pedro, that last comment brings up a question that i have,...

Who trained Luke in the arts of lightsaber combat?? In any of the movies, is it actually shown that he trains with it other than with that remote drone that flies around and shoots bolts at him. I can only assume Skywalker is self-taught, or perhapse his training was just implied in the original trilogy???

Any comments?

hmm.. you might be right there. Perhaps he wasn't trained at all, and if that's the case, we shouldn't be complaining at all about Luke's saber combat skills. I sure as hell wouldn't become that good on my own ^_^"

I heard that Vader was chosen as said before because of the whole dutch father thing but also because it sounds a bit like inVADER.

Maybe him not using lightning is to show he's not AS evil as the emperor?

I've not read the books so i cant comment on any EU stuff, but then they aint canon anyway are they?

On another note, does anyone know how they did the scene where yoda fights count dooku? did dooku just stand there and wave his saber about?

Vader is a wuss. Have you ever noticed that he never does anything exciting when fighting? All he does is swing the lightsaber very unenthusiastically. I say they should remake the last three episodes so that Anakin goes to the dark side, but he doesn't become Vader, he becomes someone more threatening and powerful. Even Dooku seemed more of a threat than Vader.

Anyway, thats my take.

Why would you want to ruin the OT?

Vader is a film icon

The fight scenes may seem poor in the OT but thats because we're spoilt these days with matrix style bullet time etc, also remember when it was filmed, a lot of the errects in it are very far advanced for the time, you cant even see the strings on the millenium falcon lol, its the tackyness that makes it what it is.

1- He is more machine than a man, he hasn't got any liver, intestines and I'm sure he doesn't have a heart, he probably have some kind of oil as blood, so he doesn't need to eat.

2- Who cares? We have never seen anyone having a bath or peeing nor pooing in Star Wars, so

3- The lightning: I'm sure the energy is felt all over the dark jedi's body, so the lightning would probably **** up his ''breathing devices''.
