torowa-sdg
Hi all -- I've been having problems getting my dedicated server up and running. I've got one brand new comp, and one old Celery to use as the server. DSL connection, Linksys router. At first, neither computer could host a game -- everyone who connected got disconnected with a message of "CL_ParsePacketEntities: end of message" (NO, I'm not using a cracked copy -- I store bought two copies =). I fixed this on the new computer by downloading the newest Linksys firmware. With this update, the new computer could host just fine. But the old computer, connected to the same router, still had problems. All the right ports were forwarded (heck, I even DMZ'd it once). But some people couldn't connect at all and others got the immediate parseerror disconnect. Any ideas on how to fix this??
MatrixCPA
Thankfully, I don't have to deal with such issues. There are several threads (admittedly a number of pages back) that also hit this topic. Here is one of them. I can't say if it'll help you that much. You might keep looking through the thread titles to see if you can find one that more closely matches your circumstances. Pity the search function is usually disabled.
torowa-sdg
Thanks -- that helps with some issues, but not the ParsePackets error. Sadly, all the items I found on the web are about no-cd cracks causing this problem -- nothing about when it happens and you're not (and never have) used that. =/
