HL is the only place this mod phenomenon (sp?) really happened, and it hasnet happened to that degree since. And it was most helped by Valves involvment in the community and its numerous patches (and TFC, dont forget). I still hold out hope for this game, becuase its awsome, but I dont see it happening.
