IronSkull
I want to play against some friends of mine in a duel, with no one else but my friends. So I clicked on "create server" and set everything the way I wanted it to be. Next I pressed "Begin" and the game (off course) started. But when I wanted to tell my friends the adress (in the pause menu in "about" ) it displays: Adress: Localhost So I can't tell my friends the adress of the server. Also it doesn't apear in the servers list of the game. I have set pure server to Yes and dedicated to no... what am I doing wrong, I just want to create a temporary server for two friends and me... plz help, greetz IronSkull
teleguy
An easy way to play JK2 with your friends is to go to the zone http://zone.msn.com/jedioutcast/. You won't have to hassle about servers or IP's there. So I can't tell my friends the adress of the server There are several ways to find out your IP. Click on "Run" (or whatever it is in your language) and enter winipcfg . The program will tell you your Ip. ( Win 2k/xp doesn't include winipcfg. In this case you open a DOS-window and type ipconfig ) In game you can find out your IP by using the console comand showip ( open console with shift + key left to 1 ). To get out of the game to tell your friends use alt + enter. Your friends can use the cmd connect[ip] ( e.g. connect 271.81.113.42 ) to connect to your server. Also it doesn't apear in the servers list of the game. Your game doesn't show up in the list cause Raven doesn't want it to show up (reducing stress on the masterserver !). Only dedicated servers send out a so called heartbeat to the masterserver.
