Akshara Posted June 10, 2002 Posted June 10, 2002 So here's a question... I've tried recording custom audio soundbites and encoding them to MP3 in just about every format my software will allow (which is fairly extensive). But so far I haven't been able to get a single audio soundbite playable ingame. If I replace a soundbite with one of the ones created for the game, like a reborn sound for a kyle sound, then it works smoothly. It's only on the custom sounds I'm recording. If anyone has had success with doing this, I'd love to know the settings you used for recording the audio and then MP3 encoding it. Thanks in advance!
Akshara Posted June 11, 2002 Author Posted June 11, 2002 To reply to my own question... After much trial and error, I discovered that the ingame dialogue may be replaced with a 16bit/44.1khz wav encoded to MP3 at this setting... 64 bitrate, variable, no emphasis 44.1khz This will make the audio file playable ingame, while keeping the filesize down.
