What Final Fantasy game is your favorite?

I finally got a PS2 and have been addicted to Final Fantasy X for days... I was just curious and wanted to know which game you guys liked the most. My personal favorite is Final Fantasy VII just because it was so much of a challenge and had such a good story ect. I also made my characters so godly in that game it was ridiculous. Try figuring out how i managed to do approx. 780000 points of damage per round with all 3 of my characters while at the same time fully healing them and recharging their mana. A close second though is Final Fantasy Tactics. I LOVED that game and enthused for hours about its chess like gameplay. Third place goes to Final Fantasy X just cause of its stunning graphics and nice story. I really liked the sphere grid leveling system. Anyways what game is your favorite and why?

well my friend, unfortunately i only have the original PS,..but one game i bought right when i came out was FF VIII. I too fell in love with the gameplay,..the characters were so real and the cutscenes in that game were so invocing and stunning. Granted, the storyline was a bit farfetched from anything i've ever heard but the game wasw fabulous. Squall Leonhart has to rank in one of teh top ten coolest FF characters ever created, even if you didn't like the game. Rinoa was pretty damn hot for a computer character too,....lol

Oh yeah, one more thing,..Final Fantasy Tactics was very interesting and captivating to play,..i just never quite got the hang of it,...(i rented in for a weekend)

dude.... i dunno about you... but 8 was second rate compared to 7.

1. summons were useless in 8

2. magic junctioning was dumb

3. messed up limit breaks.

 

quite frankly, squall was the only character you needed. Once I got the lion heart limit all I did was get him to critical then used an item to make him invincible (or Rinoa's limit) and then keep pressing triangle till it let me do his limit break. Bang... something like 20 hits at 9999 damage.

 

I'd have to say seven was the best. Interesting and twisting plot. The date thing was interesting (i got aeris the first time, and that pissed me off so i restarted and got Tifa) Materia system is, imo, the coolest most balanced way of making characters. And you could chill out in the gold saucer all day (way cooler than that dumb card game.)

it had the materia system, it had the chocabo breeding, the chocabo racing, that massive open landscape to overcome and explore, the purity of it man! just being able to wander at your free will, and then ...oh my!..... gaining the use of a vehicle..a car..then a submarine...then a plane..........christ on a bike was it good.

 

I think that game is the best game ever so far - not only have I played it the most ( and have still only scratched the surface ) , but Ive loved every minute of it. something you dont get in most games where you have to do the same thing over and over ad nauseum. ( the fighting being so integral to this game is repeated time and again- but with so many fun imaginative creatures and monsters- and ways of figuring out how to dispense of them- its just wicked!)

 

anyone who loves a challenge and hasnt played a FF game, GET FINAL FANTASY VII (7) its a whole new world. if you dont like this FF game ( lets be honest - it takes a couple of hours to get into it - and even then its not to everybodies taste) youll NEVER like a Final Fantasy game!

hehe Tiran i liked FFVIII too, except for one major thing... i HATED the draw system i mean what were the people at square THINKING??? other than that the game was pretty cool. I still dont think it compared to VII though just for the sheer challenge and stuff. I also didnt really like the summons in VIII. Nothing will ever compare to Knights of the Round again. That was the coolest summon spell ever devised (if you dont know what it is basically 13 knights appear and beat the hell out of all enemies dealing 9999 damage 13 times to all enemies on screen.) I think that in FFVIII Eden needed to be more powerful. I could only do maybe 50000 damage with her while when i summoned Knights each character could do approx 260000 and fully recharge mana and health at the same time. How did i manage to do this? simple

MP Absorb-Master Summon (absorbs MP whenever i summon)

HP Absorb-Knights of the Round (absorb HP whenever i summon Knights)

 

then you just mime with your other characters. the effect that you get is you deal about 780000 damage per turn while each character regains about 2000 MP and 10000 HP

 

another good junction i did was Tetra Attack-Doomtrain. This basically allowed me to attack four times at 9999 damage while at the same time inflicting every status ailment in the game.

 

No other game i have ever played has ever allowed me to be this godly =( even though it took me forever to get my characters so strong. (they all had 255 str and magic)

 

and on another side note... i thought Tifa was cuter than Rinoa and in FFX i really dont like Yuna. i actually think that Rikku is prolly one of the cutest characters ever created cause she's just so happy all the time.

 

Also one more point to make. Every boss since Sephiroth has been a pushover. I dont think anyone can ever compare to him again. Out of all the FF universe i would have to say that he is the coolest character ever created and in the end where you face off against him using your limit breaks.. sheer godliness. I wonder what he must have been thinking when i went and used Omnislash on him doing about 150000 points of damage.
