Why are Grass and Tall Grass models black?

Have any of you used the Yavin Grass and Tall Grass map objects? I've seen them in the single player yavin swamp and they look fine, but whenever I plop them into a multiplayer level, they show up with a black skin. Even if I tweak the lighting! Any thoughts?

I'm not sure, but I think it might have something to do with the sky. I'm not saying this will work, but it is worth trying: Put a sky shader that gives off light overhead.

Try this magic trick:

 

Select a model and open entity view.

enter:

 

key: classname

value: misc_model_breakable

 

press enter. If your model turns into a simple box in the Radiant, don't mind that. Just recompile the map and see if it helps.
