color in names

so, simply how do i put different colors in name?

Bring down console, and say u wanted your whole name 1 colour.

 

type "name *Richard"

 

* = being this symbol ^ hold down shift and 6 and u get this symbol, then after typing ^ type a number (number being a colour, 1 - 9 i think, i havnt experimented)

 

Have a play and ull get it, its all about ^ and a number after that changes the colour of the txt.

I believe you can do this without console too. You can do that while typing in your name under the player set up area.

On a semi-related side note: Has anyone ever gotten black to work? I can get it to show up on the player menu, but not actually in game. I've seen it before so I know it works, just not sure what I'm doing wrong. I think its ^8, any suggestions?

It's 9 I thought but it doesn't work in console maybe in the player menu

 

O yeah there is a n00b program for this stuff you can find it on http://www.jedknightii.net

It's called namesetter i thought it is a program for those colors so check it out (i don't need a namesetter I can do it myself )

I think ^0 works as black

^9 and ^0 only work in text messages and not names. I've tried in the player cfg file, console, and setup menu.

 

There's a limit of how far you can type in the player setup menu. If you have a name like

 

D A R K - jedi - Reelo, with lots of color tags, it will only work in the console
