Deleated scenes

To hear Lucas explain it in several interviews, he says that all the deleted scenes from AOTC have been carefully archived. So, you can be sure we will see them in the future. The question is, will he put them on the AOTC DVD, which I suspect will be out around December, to compete with Lord of The Rings, or will he make us wait for the special boxed set DVD collection of all 6 films?

Just my $0.02.:D

My name is now on the petition, also.:p

my name is on the pet. as well. I'm sure all the scences will be with the dvd. where did you get dec. for the date of release of the dvd? remember, it took 2 years for ep 1 to get here. I heard after the 3rd one is out, the trilogy will finally be ava. on dvd:tie: :atat:

I really hope that there's an option to watch the movie with the Deleted scenes back into the movie, because just seeing them after the movie isn't as wonderful. If the DVD comes out in December i'll be pretty darn excited.....because it took a long time for TPM to com eout on DVD....

My December date is a "guesstimation", at best. I'm thinking that Lucas would want to take advantage of the Christmas season, and the still present euphoria of Episode 2. However, as someone pointed out, it did indeed take 2 years for the Phantom Menace. Maybe Lucas will wait, and to whet everyone's desire for Episode 3, just prior to it's release, release the AOTC on DVD.

Keep in mind, Lucas was a "holdout" on DVD technology because he was a heavy investor into the DIVX format, which really has not taken off as far as home video. So, perhaps he will expedite the DVD release of AOTC. :D

The DVD has been confirmed as coming out on November 26th of this year. There are several reasons this DVD is coming out so much sooner than the one for TPM did:

-Lucas wants to compete in the Christmas market

-They've already been working on the AOTC DVD for a year

-AOTC is a digital file, not tape, so it's easier to format onto a DVD

-TPM's deleted scenes were scrapped before they were finished, so people had to be hired and the scenes had to be redone from scratch, while AOTC has been said to have had 817 effects shots that were complete that were simply thrown out at the last minute.

That's even better. Right around Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving morning:

Wife : "Honey, did you get the turkey?"

Husband : "Well. . .um they were out of turkeys, but I got plenty of cranberry sauce and some TV dinners."

Wife : "TV dinners?! It's Thanksgiving!"

Husband : "Well, darling I know, but I wanted to save some money this year. Turkeys are too expensive. Besides, what's wrong with breaking with tradition, once in awhile?"

Wife : "Why. . .in all the days of the year to do you pick today to start saving money?"

Husband : "Well. . . um. . . the Star Wars, Episode 2 DVD comes out in a few days, and I figured that-"

Wife : "Star Wars?!?!?!"

Husband : "We could all get enjoyment out of it for years to come. I mean a turkey only lasts one day, anyhow. So I took the money you gave me for the turkey and. . .pre-paid for Attack of The Clones at the video store."

Wife : "What the hell am I supposed to tell our guests?!?!"

Husband "Oh. . .well, you won't have to tell them anything. I called them all and told them not to come."(Husband smiles)

Wife : "You told them not to come? Even my mother?!"

Husband : "I called her first."

Wife(shaking head) : "I can't take this anymore. You're insane."

Husband : "Now honey, don't you think "insane" is a bit extreme. Obsessed maybe, but-"

Wife : "I want a divorce!"

Husband : "Sweetheart now just calm down."

Wife : "I want you to leave!"

Husband : "Honey, once this DVD comes out, you'll see. It will be worth ten turkeys. I mean it will have digital sound, crystal clear picture. . "

Wife : "I said go!"

Husband : And deleted scenes! It will have all the deleted scenes!"

Wife(screaming) : "GET OUT!!!"

Well, the joke will be on her, because he'll have the DVD.

:D

I hope its like the X-men DVD. Where you can watch the deleted and extended scenes by themselves, or have them put into the movie (with just a slight pause at the end of each of those scenes while it goes back to the movie...

Yes, i think your right, there is no point in putting 2 versions of the movie onto a DVD if one of them doesnt contain all the cut scenes. Unfortunately i dont think George will do this as its likely he'll have sum scenes hes unhappy with, and won't include - i hope for your sake this doesnt include the scene you mentioned!

Actually some scenes fro Episode II were redone or entirely done in post-production.

In fact, only in post-production did George Lucas decide to put Aayla Secura in the movie. They developped the costume and everything in only two weeks time and Amy Allen (Who works at ILM and had already played a Twi'lek for the Episode I DVD version - where Senator Orn Free Ta's aides go from humans to Twi'lek between movie release to DVD.) was selected to portray Aayla Secura. She shot for 4 days in front of a green screen without any other actors and for all her scenes she was digitally added to the existing scene in post production.

Thank you George for seeing the light on that one btw! :D Excellent call. :D:)

Such a powerful and elegant Jedi :
