Rassick Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 Actually TIE fighters are faster but that's their only advantage. The only reason they blew up all those X-wings was because all power had switched to their front deflector screens and their rears were unprotected, which was where they all were hit.

ET Warrior Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 Y-Wings are lots old and slow, which is why they were trying to use them as the torpedo ships, they have a bigger weapons payload..X-wings have the advantage in a straight TIE fighter dogfights, because they almost equal them in speed and maneuverability, but Xwings have shields, TIE's do not. And as to you mr Holo-Sideous, even if Vader only kills two jedi, which he will kill more than two, because obi-wan tells luke in ANH that he helped the emperor hunt down and kill the jedi, Maul killed..........one....and he got beaten by a padawan Jedi......sorry, vader is badder.

Actually they weren't... "The cannons... they've stopped." "Stabilize your rear deflectors; watch for enemy fighters." Nevertheless, they weren't dogfighting in the trench but just buying time, so Vader pretty much had his way with them. I always wonder why wingmen didn't pull up, drop back behind the TIEs and obliterated them... *shrug* Kryllith
