mez1109 Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 What The hell? When Luke kicks Darths ass, and saber sword slices Darths hand, is most of his arm robatic or just his hand. Also will Anakin wear a VERY long black glove over his metalic arm, or will he have fake skin just like the terminator or Luke put over it? The question of the millenium, they might skin a storm trooper, anf give it to anakin, the skin of his right arm. Wait up, he lost most of his right arm, is he right or left handed. Maybe he will be a better light saber fighter, or a craper one, as you can easily beat him, all you need is your trusty industrial strength handy size magnet.
MotionMan Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 Lucas chose the robotic hand other than the flesh looking one cause this is the past. I guese by the time of the OT they have the nice looking skin robot hands.
ET Warrior Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 When luke cut vaders hand it was entirely robotic. So Anakin had to lose that arm sometime
DarthVenom Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 Anyone interested in the injuries Vader sustained, and theories on how he recieved them should go here: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/injuries.html its very detailed indeed!
DarthVenom Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 Yea, you can get every bit of techy data on anything in the OT - the guy is clearly obsessed!
mez1109 Posted June 19, 2002 Author Posted June 19, 2002 So no-one really said if the robatic arm would make him a good or bad fighter. If he had a real arm could he have killed Luke? Also, the force is in his body, so would Darth not lose a bit of the force, or not be able to direct the force through his arm, as it is not really part of his body.
Jaster21801 Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 well, if you count grip as directing the Force through your hands, then no, machinery allows for the same channelling. I would imagine that it depends on the type of droid arm. Obviously Threepio's arm would hinder performance, but knowing that he is supposedly the most powerful Jedi, perhaps they'd fit him with an arm better suited for combat.
Mattman Posted June 26, 2002 Posted June 26, 2002 The crappy-looking metal arm that Anakin had at the end of AOTC may have been a temporary solution... If you think about it, we are all different, so it's not like they could just pull a perfect match off the shelf. We don't know how much time passed between Luke's hand getting severed and his getting a replacement. Still, hands are smaller than arms, and maybe the process of creating a perfect match had sped up by that time.
mez1109 Posted June 26, 2002 Author Posted June 26, 2002 Probably they just fit him with a black glove to cover his robatic hand, and the rest of his arm is covered by his cloths.
Kyle d'Tana Posted June 27, 2002 Posted June 27, 2002 Probably he will not have an arm like this golden one. and when the medicine is good enough for an arm like he had when it will cut the twice, he will have this arm...
mez1109 Posted June 27, 2002 Author Posted June 27, 2002 Screw the robatic alarm, they should CLONE Anakin a new arm. The Jedi health insurance probably doesn't cover premium treatment, cheap scates.
RectalFury Posted June 28, 2002 Posted June 28, 2002 It has to be temporary, the technology does not advance into the OT because of the war hence the crappy ships the rebels use. So how could they all of a sudden be able to give luke his hand back?
Kryllith Posted June 29, 2002 Posted June 29, 2002 Well seeing that at the point of his marriage, Anakin is young, punk wannabe Jedi Master with no social experience, he probably jumped on the bandwagon and got the gold terminator-style hand because that's what all the "cool" padawans who got their arms cut off for rushing into battle with a Sith lord did. So how could they all of a sudden be able to give luke his hand back? The rebels are a poorly funded, anti-government group. I doubt they can afford the best of the best, let alone have very many people willing to sell it to them. But X-wings still would've beaten any ship in the Prequels. Edit- And war is actually the best time for technology to increase. There is a greater demand for things like weapons of war or new medical techniques
Blamer Posted June 29, 2002 Posted June 29, 2002 Yep, a lot of the technological achievements of the past century on Earth can be attributed to both World Wars and the Cold War -- not just in weapons, but medicine, chemistry, transportation, manufacturing, etc. I don't see why it wouldn't be the same in Star Wars.
oninosensi Posted June 29, 2002 Posted June 29, 2002 I am sure the questions will all be amswered in EP3, at least as far as why Whinikin/Vader is so screwed up.
