Gumkak
Today on a random campagn, I stumbled upon two buildings "Yoda's Hovel" and "Ewoc Huts". These structures can be changed to your faction by placing a unit close to them (like nerfs) and seem to "stick" to your faction, no matter if another faction passes by them. I have yet to see any reference to these "special" structures. And can only guess as to their effects/use (other then: another nice blue dot on the map ) Could anyone enlighten me on their use? I appologyse if this question has been asked before in any forum. I'd search for "Yoda Hovel Ewoc Huts" using the search if I could, but the Holy-Search-Function has been disabled by the admin of this board. WolfmanNCSU
They are just eye candy on the maps. But you can use them as a cheap sentry post, plus the enemy will attack these builds instead of your base so they make a nice distraction too. That's about it, I dont think they benifit in any other way.
DashRendar
I'm not sure but I THINK if you capture every single one of the "eye candy buildings" you just have to wait a while and you'll win. (I think 200 days) Much like a Capture the Base games except with more than one "Base."
Kryllith
Hadn't heard that before, might be interesting to try though. Kryllith
EB_7
What Civ were you using, and what map was it? The reason I ask is because I've seen something similar on a one player random. Using the Trade Fed, on the asteroid map, I uncovered 3-5 large 'ore depots', can't remember the exact name. At first I thought I should send a cargo trader from my Spaceport, but that didn't work. I finally just ignored them, and they were demolished by the Empire. I think for every Civ, and thier respective 'home map' this is possible. I'll go try Royal Naboo on a water map or eight to test my theory. Hell, how about instead I'll go try the Rebels on some snow map, hehe. Too many water maps to know if I'm on the right one. Confederacy and Desert? (Geonosis was arid.) Wookies and Forest, Galactic Empire and Kryshyyk? (sp?)
Crazy_dog no.3
OK I know what they are used for. They are for extra structures so they count as structures as long as u have them so if the opponent wrecks your base but u have some units left as long as Ewok Huts aren't destroyed u don't lose. simwiz2
IIRC wookies on a forest map get these giant tree stumps that you cant control but they look really cool.
General_Veers
It's just an idea, but it would be good when you captured an ewok hut you could then use it to build ewok warriors and gliders, etc. I'm not sure about Yoda's Hovel but maybe you could use that to research new Jedi/Sith upgrades. It's just an idea, but it'd be fun...
CorranSec
In random maps, there are sometimes such things as "asteroid resource depots" "food storehouses" etc. etc. No real use, just fit with the map. And I don't think it has anything to do with the civ you're using. In the campaigns, though, sometimes you can find secret little buildings and stuff-eg. in one Gungan there's luke, yoda's hut, yoda, and R2. Is this the sort of thing you meant? cos you said "random campaign.." Yoda's Hut and Ewok huts could be explained in a random map if they were on Dagobah and Endor, respectively.... just as fitting with the map. Eye candy, whatever. General_Veers
As a continuation of what I've already written: When it comes down to the food storehouses and processing plants etc they should slowly and steadily provide a stream of the appropriate rersource. For instance, if you capture a food storehouse it should steadily add food to your stockpile, much in the same way as animal nurseries do. I believe it's small things like these that would make Battlegrounds a much better game if they were included.
CorranSec
Hmmm... maybe. But if storehouses etc. were to have any use, I think it should just provide you with a big bunch of that resource. They are, after all, storehouses, containing a whole bunch of a resource, not generating that resource.
