Faye Ying
how is it different? only thing different is the animation. the OVAs were produced to have a more "realistic" look. the people dont' have big eyes. they all have narrower slitted eyes like real people the noises their katana's make for example, sliding in and out of the saya is quiet, not that ugly metal against metal rubbing noise. i prefer the OVAs over the series. and PLEASE dont' call it samurai x samurai x = americanized rurouni kenshin. it makes me puke. espeically those calling OVA 1 as "Samurai x" goddamnit, its the "rememberance arc" not "Samurai x"
breadsticks
The only different is the animation? How much of the series have you watched? The OVAs are very dark and gritty in style, very gory and violent, they remind me of a more dramatic and sinister Ninja Scroll. The series, on the other hand, could quite easily be compared to dominion tank police, not only with the cutesy eyes animation but also the generally positive feel of them, unlike the OVA. I'm not saying the series is bad, just that they're so completely different that they're barely recognisable as the same cartoon, except through Kenshin's character.
