aL BeasTie Posted June 21, 2002 Share Posted June 21, 2002 Theres a new site just starting up that's dedicated too JK2 Modelling (players, map objects and sabers), it's more for finding out what models are being worked on and downloading current ones, but there's already some links to good tutorials. the only thing is that it's centered around models from the Star Wars Universe it might stop people spamming the forums so much coz they can find out when it's released, and there will be a mail list for model releases. sorry just passing it on because the site is new and I want it to last oh yeah here's the link - http://www.jk2models.cjb.net Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But we are sharing filespace with http://www.thehekawis.com - so check em out too. I realise we have some great jk2 sites (like http://www.jediknightii.net and jedi-outcast.com) but they have file server issues (well have in the past) so this will be another site to download from. also I'm trying to keep it to the Star Wars Chars. including the EU of course, but I admit that I've never delved much into the EU (the only book I ever read or recognised wsa "Splinter In The Minds Eye") so if I am hosting any custom chars. ones that don't appear in any comic or book etc ie. that have been invented by the modeler, please tell me so I can remove them. remember it's http://www.jk2models.cjb.net Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And even though it isnt from the EU (to my knowledge), keto has included a very detailed backstory that includes them in the Starwars Universe, so maybe your policy of no non-Movie/EU characters should be bent if the characters story still fits well. Perhaps make a section for made up characters that still belong in the starwars universe. also, i hope you make it easier to find the files you want and to download them than the other sites. the only other site i've seen with a user-friendly interface is jedioutcastmaps.com, the rest lead you no where but away from the downloads, that is unless its in the top 10. its in my bookmarks, and i hope to see it up and running all the way soon - with files to download and all. aL BeasTie Posted June 24, 2002 Author Share Posted June 24, 2002 okay the first screens are an intro intro that's near 700k so if your connection isn't too good it might take while to load but it should load the text link first in a few seconds, which you click to skip the intro it says ~ ENTER JK2 MODELS ~ er somethin, sorry but I was just testing the intro and I guess it doesn't cater for slow connections. The sites files are among another sites files (http://www.thehekawis.com) they are aware of this but we are using more space then them already. This is a NON-PROFIT site, every other JK2 site has 6pages before the download links and more banners than I can average out right now. so it's a simple site with direct links to tutorials files etc. for everyone it is not a free site, it is not hosted by a free host and the bandwidth is unlimited so you can download whatever you want whenever you want, the fileserver is in Australia (i think) so that might make it slow at time for some people. If too many ppl complain about the intro I'll get rid of it, but it's there so ppl know what the site is about before they think it sucks becasue it's not fancy etc. When I can I will update the site completely, but for now the main thing is keeping the content up to date, I still need all the LightSaber WIP's. So just so everyone knows this site is for the benifit of others, not so I make money on pop-ups. I'm happy for any comments guys - I need to know what you guys want because it's for YOU! I think I might kill this site because ppl keep whineing about 1 measly pop-up, while jkii.net has dozens of banners. and most of tem make them money, I AM NOT MAKING MONEY ON THIS. And I only did so there's a site with ALL MODELS, not scattered through 4 websites, and to help modellers from ppl asking for release dates etc. if ppl use this site then the SPAM will reduce in this forum.
