Xytrix
I'm running Jedi Knight 2 on Windows 2000 and regardless of which driver version I have, the gamma wont change. I have a Voodoo3 3000 and i'm using the WickedGL driver to clear the blurry menu problem and such, but the game is really dark as if the gamma is at the default of 1 although the console says that the r_gamma command is at like 2.7 (whatever the maximum is). I can change the slider and see no effect on the game's gamma whatsoever. I'm currently using the 3dfx Underground 1.09.00 beta 4 drivers. If you can help me out, please reply. teleguy
Set r_ignorehwgamma to 1 and try if you can change the brightness now. Other commands: r_overBrightBits 1 is default, setting it higher makes the game brighter. r_fullbright 1 is default, setting it higher makes the game brighter. r_intensity 1 is default, setting it higher makes the game brighter. vid_restart is required to apply some of these changes. If nothing works try r_ext_gamma_control 0 before changing brightness.
Xytrix
Thx for the reply, according to another thread your information helped a guy with WinXP get his gamma working... unfortunately i cant say the same :/ I set r_ignorehwgamma to 1 and got nada... i set r_ext_gamma_control to 0 and still nada, i changed r_overbrightbits and r_intensity and one of them made the textures a lighter color or something but no overall gamma increase for the environment. I wanted to try r_fullbright but the game said the command was 'cheat protected' and wouldn't let me change it.
