You need to know the make and model # of your monitor and then go to the manufacturers site and see if they have a driver for it. You could also try this, make a new text document and rename it to autoexec.cfg and put it in your jk2/gamedata/base directory, now open autoexec.cfg and inside type the following command

 

seta r_displayRefresh "100"

 

now save the cfg and try starting the game, if it still doesn't work then go back into the cfg and try one of these numbers till you get the right one

 

85, 75, 72, 70 or 60

 

one of those has to work.
