MotionMan
Are you replying to my post in that other thread? This one? In fact every charecter would have a clone.(There is an EU story were Obi wans clone is evil). Although I do want to see new movies after ROTJ or Movies about the Old republic, I wouldnt want some of the EU stuff being made cannon. If so: Its true they would screw it up with crap like that. Its ok to write about these outragous ideas(Cough*Booba alive*Cough), But to make them cannon? *MotionMan shivers! Pray to the gods that doesnt happen. ET Warrior
I think that there should be a law passed that states when George Lucas Dies....anything released that is Star Wars Related CANNOT be considered canon............... If we let those EU psychos have their way we'll have movies taking place 100 years after ROTJ and there will be 10 obiwan clones running around
Kyle d'Tana
That will be very very very very very very very bad!!! i cant think about this!
Jaster21801
Remember when Lucas was taken out of the picture back in like 77 or 78? His cohorts made that God-awful "Star Wars Holiday Special"... That's what happens when Lucas ain't at the helm... So whoever is bitching about Star Wars needing new direction/writing, then just look to the holiday special and that's all the proof you need. Star Wars and Lucas are married.
Kyle d'Tana
hmm, i think this marriage will never be broken and until he's in his grave..... he will take the copyright of star wars in his grave!!!!!!

Sgt.BF
what heppens when george aint at the helm? esb, the greatest fricking starwars movie ever! rotj too, which kicks the ass off the new stuff. But yeah, if starwars 'fans' start making 'starwarses', then even worse stuff could happen... Just imagine a tv series: 'the adventures of mara jade', while a good character, would never be pulled off and would compete with startrek and herculese for daytime viewing slots. *shudders*
ET Warrior
George wasn't the director of those two movies, but do you think that he wasn't looking over the real directors shoulders almost every minute......he had almost as much control over those two movies as he did the other three. Sgt.BF
yeah, but he wasn't at the helm, as such. Agreed, he influenced them a lot, just pointing out that giving someone else the controls can be a good thing. Like getting a taxi ;' >
Jaster21801
uh, he friggin WROTE the scripts!!! Therefore, I'd say he was at the helm. it's his brainchild.
Sgt.BF
he co-wrote the second two... but yeah, it's his brainchild. He doesn't owe it to anyone to make excelent movies, but its a great shame when he doesn't and someone else could have.

RectalFury
Please, do not blame the ewoks for the crappiness of these movies. The ewoks were forced to perform against their will by evil producers who used sith mind tricks. Luckily, before any further damage could be done, they were discovered and smashed by swinging logs. AcceptableRisk
One reason why Star Wars hasn't turned out like Star Trek is because GL is tightly in control at the helm...were all the EU creators to be let loose, I'd have to find a life and stop posting on boards like these.
