*Darth Vega*
I like fighting these assfighters cause they're easy to kill. Just chuck your saber at em a few times and they will stop very fast. If this is too complicated for you then I'm sorry you suck...
Locke101
I agree with you gusy 100|% when it comes to noob backstabers. However i have learned to get around these noobs, if you are such great players, you guys would do the same instead of wasting your time on these forusm complaining about how noobs hurt you. Yeah i hate it too but there are ways around it, called lets see do acrobactic moves the noob doesn't know. And if that doesn't work and you keep dieing, then your the noob because you don't know how to get around something. Peopel have complained about the patch taking away the learning curve of the saber. Yet when a challenge arises people complain. Yes you have a right to voice your opinion but do it in at least a more dignified manner. Yelling and cursing doesn't get the results that one woiuld hope for, especially if you were to complain like that to Raven. They would just delete the e-mail becuase it would be a waste of their time. JAtM Trev
I only bs the bsers. This guy came into a server; he asks, "Is it true the most powerful move in this game is done backwards?" I say yes, and he begins to assfight. A few well timed swings and he's dead. The next bser, I just out bsed him. BSers are easy to avoid, more fun to kill. If you have some force, use kick and throw. In NF, use well timed strikes or bs them back.

DeTRiTiC-iQ
Being killed by a backstab doesn't happen to often for me, but when it does, its either because I was in a bad situation or because the other guy is skilled. Guess what, I don't give a damn. There are other things in this game that frustrate me more than getting killed by this move. The main one being, that I can single-handedly turn most CTF games around, on the condition that its not the Nar Shadaa map. Its incredibly frustrating being able to win on all but one map. Personally I don't like 1.04, it turns light stance back into a mockery. I don't like the lack of control after using backstab or backswing. If they had just made it easier to block so that its not as effective that would have been great. But they made the move frustrating to use. megafu
backstabing is part of the game. stop whining. Arsefighters are pathetic, but they never win in deathmatch, and have NO chance in a duel. when an arsefighter walks towards( backwards)... kick him.. simple.. then backstab him back. if he knows what he's doing, pull.. then kick... and so on. or.. lightsaber throw... then pull... ALWAYS works cause you can't block when you both have absorb on and you pull. instead of whining.. learn different tactics.. and have fun.

Koenig
If you stick with it, and learn how Backstabbers and DFAers work( and Fan Boys but I'm still trying to counter them 100% of the time) you can counter act them. e.g 2 Guys both german, spent more time chatting than fighting, sliced em both up in a 1v1 duel. 1 Starts running round backwards slashing forward( a clear sign to watch for backstabbing), counter, get ready to get out of the way, and throw your sabre at them. Then the other starts using strong style, he crouches ( clear DFA incoming) as he leaps I leap to the side( or leap wayback) I throw my sabre, damaging him muchos. It also works for Fan Boys, though to a less effect. I only use the throw to avoid those attacks, when they play properly, I use standard attacks. Mercen4ry
I'm sorry, but that just seemed proper for this thread. Now then, let me regurgitate one of my responses from a previous thread: Ok now, I promised myself I would quit bitching about BS and whatnot in public, but this thread has gone on for too long and I will do my best to address it without the above. First off, I dispatch BSers on my favorite server as a matter of course, typically by showing them exactly how cheap their move is or serving them a little Disruptor bolt (gun server) while they're preying on an innocent player, typically killing (s)he and/or their victim in one fell swoop before the backstabber could get another free kill. However, you seem to be missing the point here megafu. Certainly, folks can just shut their pie holes and go on playing like usual. Sure, we could all just try and cope with backstabbers as a matter of course, and in some cases, become them. What these people are trying to say is: We shouldn't have to. That said, let me work with a few non-Quake 3 (seen too many of these) analogies. For instance, let's look at one of the most popular MMORPGs out there - DAoC. Every so often, an exploit or problem creeps up on the game, while the Dev team intends a patch to be helpful the plan backfires, or people will exploit a bug like no tomorrow. Like the screenshot - keep door bug. Like old nuker damage problems. And what do the DAoC folks do about it? No, they don't force players to just, "Deal with it. Thank you for playing DAoC, have a nice day." They patch it, and rely on player feedback to tell them if their work was a success. Or look at Counter-Strike. Folks have gotten away with aim-bots, invisible skins, and the whole nine-yards for as long as the game was (and still is) popular. But do folks just stuff it and continue playing like the game is going out of style should said player come on? No, they leave. Now then, I'm not implying that JK2, being a game with free multiplayer online times, should be as readily patched as DAoC (at $15 or so a month) or that everyone should just leave. I'm saying look at the gaming precedent up to JK2. Players do not, should not, and will not just put up with an exploit or "legit move" that should not be as powerful as it is, which is why so many whine about it (including myself, on many occasions ), and it's our right to do so, even if it doesn't get the job done. But enough preaching. Just whining about it to the seemingly-deaf ears of Raven will not cut it these days; if Raven were planning to release 1.04, they would have done it a long time ago, probably due to the release of the SDK (I still hope they will, though ). There is to my knowledge, however, a setting and a mod that seem to remove many of the exploits of 1.03, and even return some of the fun back to sabering - GSD (Ghoul 2 enabled, sabertracesaberfirst 0, and cg_dismember 300) coupled with the 1.03++ mod. Need proof? Try this server: Rage and Honor (GSD) Simply Type "/connect 65.113.116.20:28072" in the console, or find the server using the all-seeing eye. Also view this thread for important server information pertaining to settings and custom maps: http://64.246.44.70/~lucasforums.co...72&pagenumber=1 That said, it is my hope that folks will try out this solution, and even if they end up not liking it, they at least know that they tried; it's better than just sitting on your hands and bitching all over this board (venting is fine, IMO, but it won't get the job done ). Hopefully in the future we will see less of these: and instead see more of these: Merc out.
iTeM
I don't have a problem with backstabbers/sweepers, it's the goddamn Flechette cannon users that piss me off! you can't push the balls back for long, 'cause it's firing much faster than you can push. OMG... I REALLY hate that weapon.
