Chiles4
I just upgraded my mainboard to a faster one and my video card from a Kyro 2 to a GF3 Ti 200 which I can overclock the shiz out of. My 3DMark scores have doubled as a result. 10000 in 3DMark2000. My Kyro 2 got 90-100fps in much of JO. Now, with my new set up I can't get any higher than 100fps - even playing at 640x480 with detail turned down and staring at a blank wall at close range! I have Vsync off in JO as well as in the Nvidia OpenGL control panel. Am I missing something here? Is there a variable in JO that caps framerate like I used to remember in Q2? At low res, I should be getting 200+ fps!
teleguy
It's com_maxfps x .
Chiles4
Thanks. I found it too on google. I took a wild guess and searched on cg_maxfps. Found a reference to com_maxfps. I'll try it tonight - I hope it solves my problem. Update: tanks a bunch. Frame rates are now maxing out at 250fps at 640res. and that's not even with the card overclocked! I'm playing now at 1600x1200! I should have tried the higher resolutions earlier - then I would have realized that I was hitting an fps cap.
