AOTC is a very bad movie

George Lucas is dead*. At least the man who made the orgional trilogy is. The man who fills his shoes now is old, fat and rich. Starwars is no longer being made by an ambitious young man risking everything in an attempt to make his mark in the film industry, but an old grampa wanting to make a nice movie for the kids.

Furthermore, starwars was just a film. The new movies are 'starwars'. He's not trying to make films anymore, but starwarses. And that is why he fails.

* he isn't really

:eyeraise:

Care to explain what that jumbled mess is supposed to mean?

Hey, like i said in my earlier post, I think a movies strongest asset is in it's ability to take you into that world. On this concept alone, i think GL has succeeded.

If you're going to sit and nitpick, b*tch and complain about every minute detail...well maybe you should stop watching movies and take up, i don't know, sewing. :D

I liked Episode 2, I really did. I even liked Episode 1. I know they're not like the originals, but theyre still good. On a note about the acting though, I think I know why at least Hayden Christensen seems bad. I saw an interview where Hayden said he was trying to portray a 20 year old Jake Lloyd and sound like a young James Earl Jones. So that might be why he seems bad in the movie :D. The first time I saw the movie I thought he and the gorgeous Natalie could've been better, but the movie and acting seems better everytime i see it.

Well I just think that the old trilogy is going to be improved, with the new special effects and added scenes about 2006, and even new music. And he CAN do it. I hope he does.

Euh... Well if you think he is not seeking commercial things. You know, he put a 9 year old as a main character. Now he has put a love story. He makes the movies for himself not what people intend him to do.

Well he has made his mark again with AOC, the best special effects i have ever seen in a movie. And CGI characters interacting perfectly too. And first big-budget movie filmed on Digital cameras.

Definitely. I think the reason some people have problems with the individual movies is they focus too much on them. They see Jake and Hayden and wonder: "How the heck did these people ever turn into that bad ass Darth Vader we all know and love?" Course, they're asking this while missing a key element (episode III) of the story. I say enjoy the story as a whole and quit harping on the little things that bug you. It's Lucas's story after all; let him write it the way he wants. If you don't like it then go watch Star Trek or something...

Well if they're going to nitpick the individual aspects that they didn't care for in the movies and as oppose to accepting the story as it is than I'd say they're already travelling down the path of the dark side. :) We might be able to save them, but if not... well Star Trek's waiting. :)

SW has always been about special effects since the start. If Lucas had the tools to do the FX he did for the NT he would have used them. The OT and the NT would have looked the same. Why is that so hard to understand. We just have had 20 more years with the OT charecters for them to grow on us, rather than 3+ with the NT charecters.
