merlinova
Hey...I'm running a dedicated server and I play on the same computer. The problem that I am having is that I use a Gravis Eliminator Aftershock. Whenever I push any of the buttons, those garbled messages always appear in the console. How do I stop that from happening, other than not using a gamepad or playing on a different computer?
teleguy
Does this only happen when you create a dedicated server?

teleguy
What if you create a non-dedicated server?
merlinova
If I were to do that, would I still be able to use utilities like Q3offline and Jedi Runner? And would people be able to find my IP address through the game browser?
merlinova
One other thing...might it be that I'm using a USB controller?
teleguy
If I were to do that, would I still be able to use utilities like Q3offline and Jedi Runner? Jedi Runner will work. You just have to select "Listen" as server type. I don't know about Q3offline but it will probably work too. And would people be able to find my IP address through the game browser? Raven wants to reduce stress on the masterserver, so a non-dedicated server will normally not show up in the game browser. But theres a trick to get around it. Create a dedicated internetserver, wait for the "sending out heartbeat" message , then close the server. Now create a listen server; it should show up in the server list.
