blue_stratos
I have a really annoying problem in Jedi Knight 2. Everytime I fire (any weapon or swing the lightsabre) or anyone else fires, there is a slight pause. This makes the game horrible unplayable and hard to aim, especially during intense battle scenes. It also slows down dramatically when the lightsabre comes in contact and melts the wall (when holding the lightsabre and walking next to a wall). I have the following configuration: Pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor 512MB RAM Gainward Geforce 4 Ti4600 128MB RAM Seagate 40GB 7200RPM Hard Drive Sound Blaster Audigy LG 16X DVD/48X CD As you can see the system is very powerful, apart from the problems above, the game runs extremely smooth. I have installed the latest 1.03 patch and am running the game with the EAX Advanced HD with my Audigy card. I have the system running with every setting at maximum, this works fine until the problem above. This problem exists no matter how I adjust video settings (even with the EAX off). I am also using the latest 29.32 Detonator drivers. Has anyone else experienced this same problem, did you manage to fix it? Ejaz
Camus
I can see your system is a real screamer... I have lots of ideas... but one thing sticks out the most that you said... "Geforce 4 Ti4600 128MB RAM" Ive got a responce from one of the techsuport from lucas arts said that Jedi Knight 2 has some conflicts with the Navidia GeForce chipsets and thier drivers... All I can say about your problem is its related to your chip set and drivers of your Graphics card...
Camus
Hey you might want to look at this... It might be your problem... Might not but it should be worth a look... http://support.lucasarts.com/trg/tgd.asp?id=2466&g=120&s=4 Hope it helps...
blue_stratos
Thanks for that, but I don't think that's the problem. I just bought the game yesterday. I installed it and immediately patched it without running it first. I've only ever played it as version 1.03. However, like you said i'm pretty sure it is the graphics card. I have just sent an e-mail to Activision here in the UK and am awaiting their reply. Ejaz
