LINK-ER
Ansible, you and I think alike. I have one computer downstairs (this one) and one upstairs which I am constructing the model on now. I fixed it on that computer somewhat but I'm still working on getting the horn shape right. It's not exactly pointy like that, it's more rounded. I was just posting that to show where I put the horns, not to show the "finished" horns. Thanks for the help! (I am going to try to get his head "nearly" finished by Sunday. I am off of work tomorrow, friday, saturday, and sunday so I might be able to get the head done before then )
Harukaze
Wow, this is really evolving very nicely! It's amazing to see how this began and to watch it go through each of these steps as that face slowly becomes more and more like the actual alien's face. I'm really quite impressed. And inspired too, I think it's time to fire up gmax. I've got a good 10 hours before the BBQ, I should have some time to do something I hope. Ansible
Heh, great minds do think alike. Also the side view of the 'beak' seems a little too flat, try to round it some. **For Example** Try making a small sphere, with about 8-10 sides (depending on your current poly count) and cut it in half. Shape it to the beak and place it on the beak (If you have trouble shaping it collapse works well). Then work on it from there, pushing an pulling. What kind of computer are you using anyway? (Just curious. ) Can't wait for an update ~Ansible
Midgit Yoda
(I was LINK-ER before but something happened to my account) I am looking at Nikto in 3DS Max now. Is beak is supposed to be flat like that. If you'll notice, the screens I last posted weren't completely flat and rounded themselves into his face. A flat face is one of his characteristics (says so on his action figure box lol). I've been out on the like inner tubing all day today (god I'm tired) so I haven't done much. I'll try to finish the two horns today though. Ansible
Actually you last screen shot has his 'beak' pretty flat, and in this image, http://starwars.com/databank/species/nikto/img/movie_sm.jpg , you can see that his 'beak' has a stretched roundness. ~Ansible
Midgit Yoda
In that image, his beak is just a tad bit more rounded than mine. But if you will notice the mouth's corners end and then it starts curving. That is what mine does (I just haven't added the mouth yet). Once I get it skinned and stuff you will understand. Oh yeah, by the way. I have no clue how to weight stuff or texture it or UVMap it. Any good tuts?

Midgit Yoda
Okay guys, Update time. I am working on two models now (Nikto is no longer on hold ). I'm making a Jawa and Nikto. I decided I really hate Nikto's head I was making so I decided to start it over. The head is coming along quite nicely this time. Where I made it with a square, there were creases in it everywhere. Expect screens in a few days.
