Help with glass

I need help with making glass walls. i tried this tutorial, but can't get it to work http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorials/br201lsn8.html

I made a brush using caulk. Clicked on a 1 face, and added the texure "common/glass2" because common/glass_reflective wasn't in my jk2radiant. Next i set the brush to detailed. Then i made a frame around it. I made the .bsp and loaded the level. It didn't work, so i tried texturing more than 1 face and made another one a whole brush. I have no idea what i did wrong. Any help? Also, is there anywhere i can download other glass textures?

Glass is a shader, not a texture. common/glass2 is a texture, not a shader. You need either common/glass, common/glass_reflective, common/glass_no_tess, or common/glass_reflective_double-sided. If you can't see them, make sure the Show Shaders option is checked in your texture browser.. although if you can see caulk, I can't figure out why you wouldn't be able to see the others.

First, how did you 'click one face' ? ctrl+shift+click, jsut to make certain.

Next, make sure 'show shaders' is checked, so that you see shaders (they have a white outline).

What exacyly didn't work? Did you just not see it?

Un-zip matextras.pk3 into your base directory, it has a bad habit of hiding important shaders and textures. I know thats where my caulk was hiding :p

When you first try glass, don't worry too much about the frame if it isn't working at first. And, a more detailed explenation of 'it dosn't work' would help us to help you :)

ok, i was using jk2radiant. The reason why i got the caulk thing, was because i pressed "S" and typed it in. I couldn't see any shaders, even though i had "Show Shaders Checked. I found out what was wrong. For some reason JK2radiant didn't show any shaders. I downloaded GTKradiant, and BAM, i could see them. Thanks for the help.

I do have 1 more question though. When I make a glass window (double sided), do i have to make my brush 2x2, 32x32 etc...? Or can i have it any size.

ok, i unzipped that file and now i see all the shaders and everyone is right, JK2radient is way more easier to work with than GTK. Thanks for the help everyone. The multi player level i'm working on is very wierd. I wanted to have most of the walls glass, but it is too much like clear glass. I just thought it'd be a little tinted. well, hopefully my level will be posted on this site when im done with it. Thanks again
