Grets Sirob
A. Should be a poll. B. ST's are not clones, they are genetically altered humans(the emperor hates non-humans) I say genetically altered because they can't fight, their brains were taken out... May the force be with you. Kyth'emos
They are NOT clones, and what do you mean by they can actually fight ? why should they be unable to fight ?
pik-ard
he is reffering to the fact that stormtroopers couldnt hit a death star if they were inside of it... they cant hit 2 slow moving droids crossing the walkway while the stormtroopers were firing constantly. the clone troopers actually managed to hit their target, and consistantly to. Elegy
I wondered that myself but I kinda doubt it. They're definately the original stormtroopers as far as storyline goes. Whether or not there's a few remnant clones chillin' in the Imperial army is purely speculation at this point. As is whether the stormtroopers are in fact clones as well I suppose. But I kinda doubt it. The stormtroopers seemed less professional. They were poor shots, and they stood around during their shifts chatting away at one another (like on the first death star when they were discussing some new model of speeder). The clones weren't so sloppy. They were clean, efficient, and totally devoid of any real individual personality. Seems like Palpatine tried to emulate that with the stormtroopers, but it just quite wasn't up to par with the clones.
obi
Darth Knight, Not to judge or anything, but you do a lot of flaming. here is what I think: Some of the troopers are clones, left over from the war. The Emporer decides to save money, and tell men to Work as Stormtroopers, or die. That way, he doesn't have to pay the folks on Kamino to make anymore clones. Elegy
I wonder if anything happens to Kamino in Ep3. That would certainly support the no more clones theory.
Vestril
Originally posted by Elegy I wonder if anything happens to Kamino in Ep3. That would certainly support the no more clones theory. Well, they were just one planet of Cloners...the way Obi Wan and Dex (is that his name?) talked about it, there were other races who cloned as well. If you think about the Stormtroopers job versus the Clonetroopers job this becomes pretty simple. For the most part Stormtroopers hang around and look mean. They are there to intimidate people. Clonetroopers are warriors meant to fight in battle constantly, and it would be a waste of their skills to leave them sitting aroung guarding the Death Star from a very unlikely assault. So anyway, I agree with most of the opinions here, and that is one of the major reasons why. They probably mainly died off in the Wars, so it seems unlikely that any were left, unless Kamino was still producing more, so the Empire had some units left to fight major battles (like perhaps it was Clones on Hoth...). shidobu
but even when they were sent out on missions [e.g capturing Leia and the droids] they were still the same bumbling incompetent St's. Y would Vader take fake soldiers to capture and conquer a ship?
Arkum
who knows what happens to the clones, but hey are NOT stormtroopers, that's for sure.

Y would Vader take fake soldiers to capture and conquer a ship? Not fake troopers, just not as skilled. They are trained, on a level with our police, whereas the Clonetroopers are elite troopers, more on a level with marines.
