How can I play as Models that I downloaded against other people

Is there a way i can play as other models against other people.

the server has to support the model

 

and the player has to have downloaded the model too, otherwise they'll see you as they're default skin

well i thought other people can see other skins if

1. your the host

2.You MUST have it on auto download!

As far as I know auto-download only does maps because if it had to upload all of the 3rd party skins/models for every player that joins the server lag would be terrible and probably crash.
