Cone textures

I have created a fire pit shaped like a bowl that sits on top of a stand. The texture on the outside looks good but the inside looks like wire frames. I inverted the matrix of the cone so that the texture appears on the outside, but how do you put texture on box sides of a cone?

thicken the cone, in the curves menu, select Thicken.
