Arkum
OK, a lot of people have asked me this, but I just never heard it: When anakin is fighting the tusken raiders and yoda is meditating, somwhere in that scene some people have said that you can hear Qui-Gon Jinn's voice in the background saying "No Anakin" or somethnig like that. Has anyone here heard him? I haven't:confused:
obi
I heard him. Qui-Gons should be heard, not seen. plus this should be moved to the swamp soon.
Kryllith
Yeah, I heard him too. I think he actually just yelled "Anakin!" twice (perhaps sampled from TPM when he yells "Anakin! Drop!". Kryllith
Jaster21801
Actually, you hear him say "Anakin! Anakin nooooooooooo" and his voice kinda trails off... you hear it when the scene cuts to Yoda meditating.
Kryllith
Was it him saying "noooooooooo"? I thought it was another voice overlain. Kryllith
Jaster21801
I took it to be Qui Gon's voice, but it trails off rather quickly so I could be mistaken.
TheRock
After the last really sweet looking slash Anakin takes, the scene switches to Yoda. You then here Qui-Gon say "No, Anakin....NOOOOOOOO!" I believe the intention there is that Yoda is listening to the force, and Qui-Gon's spirit must sense that Anakin is doing something terrible. Qui-gon though doesn't have the ability to show himself or speak to Anakin, like Yoda and Old Ben can do later on. Yet, seeing Anakin commit the act causes his spirit to scream out, and Yoda hears it, and can sense Anakin is in a great deal of pain.
Jaster21801
Qui Gon was supposedly the first to achieve contact beyond the grave.... I don't know how true this is though...
Demolisher
I think it's a premonition of a scene in Episode 3. We'll see Qui-Gon then and he's trying to stop Anakin from actually becoming Darth Vader. But then again, who knows
Arkum
yeah, he's right, Qui-Gon is going to have a hand in doing somethign in Episode 3. Kind of like how Obi-Wan dies, (it kinda lloks like he does it on purpose, you know just looking at Luke and then letting Vader strike him). obi Wan had told Luke of his father after he died and helped him too. JEDI_Nova
Well yeah he did it on purpose. He kinda anchored his spirit onto Luke to help guide him. Thats what he meant when he said "You cant win Darth. Strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine" And yes i heard Qui Gon say "No Anakin!" but I dont think thats him saying "Nooo" I think that was supposed to be a Sand person gurgling when he died
Jaster21801
Well the thing is that sandpeople don't speak basic (english)... They just have their howls and roars... Not to mention, the line is as follows: Anakin! Anakin no! Unless the "no" portion isn't Qui-Gon... But that wouldn't really make sense for him to just yell Anakin's name now would it? ET Warrior
It was QuiGon that yelled NOO!!
mInk3nine
I heard Liam Neeson hated playing the role of qui-gon and won't be returning for any of the other movies. i'm not saying that thats's not qui-gons voice, but why would lucas go and cast another qui-gon? its not his style....besides, i think it would ruin episode 3 if qui-gon's spirit came to talk to anakin to persuade him not to cross over to the dark side. First, though he was the one to sense his great ability, he never really knew anakin like obi-wan gets to know him, as an apprentice; and second, it would be a little too much of a 'been there done that' kinda thing. we saw it in episode 5 and 6...i dunno, it would just be too cliche if he came back. If anyone is going to persuade anakin not to cross over, it should be obi-wan.
Jedi_Monk
Qui-Gon was the one who recognized Anakin's power on Tatooine. If he had just left Anakin on that dustball, Anakin would have lived his life never knowing he had the Force and just thinking his reflexes were really good. Qui-Gon is responcible for everything. Also, I heard that Liam Neeson was signed on for all three Prequels. Also, in the credits it says something like "The Voice - Liam Neeson"
mInk3nine
Well i guess that just goes to show, never trust what entertainemtn tonite has to say : P. i'm not trying to say that qui-gon isn't responsible for anakin, i even said it myself in so many words...but i will stick to my[/] opinion. if qui-gon's spirit comes to talk to anakin I for one will feel like we've seen it before. But who really knows for sure, we'll just have to wait and see.
Arkum
qui gon should tell anakin, because he was basically the only one who trusted anakin to win the podrace and believed he was the chosen one or whatever. Obi wan doesn't really believe it's anakin until after qui gon dies because he promises to train anakin.
shidobu
I kind of got the feeling that Obi-Wan trains Anakin more because he feels obligated to carry out his dead master's last wish than because he believes in Anakin. He seems to act like Anakin is a burden.

Well, the boy was a vergence in the force. Had Qui-Gon not found him, Sidious or someone else would have found him. Maybe if Qui-Gon had trained Ani he'd have turned out different.
