Obi-wan argued with Qui-gon a number of times in TPM, but they usually came to terms with one another. Anakin doesn't make much effort to come to terms with Obi-wan's efforts to teach him... Jaster21801
Yes but as suggested in that one scene, Palpatine is part of the picture too. He seems to be sowing the seeds of arrogance in Anakin which may be a part of his defiance.
Kryllith
Oh absolutely, starting as early as TPM when he told Anakin that he'd be watching him with great interest. Of course, it doesn't help that he started his apprenticeship so late (relatively speaking) in life. I imagine jedis overall tend to be less arrogant if they are raised understanding their power instead of suddenly have it thrust upon them. ET Warrior
Thats for certain, Anakin was raised for 9 years of his life a slave, always knowing he could never change that, and would always be a worthless slave. Then suddenly he is no longer a slave, and he is trained to be a Jedi. He has gone from one end of the spectrum to the other, and his arrogance could not be higher!
