The_One
http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/pulpit20020627.html If this is carried out, Microsoft would virtually own and control the internet. This is a terrifying prospect - very worrying. No Linux, no Unix, no Macs - just Microsoft - the internet would be MSN. Nothing would be safe... VERY scary... oninosensi
You expected anything different? Bill Gates is only in this for the money, in any way he can get it. Hopefully, the anti-trust suit will break that, but I doubt it. Freedom is an illusion. The web isn't free. You pay to connect, in cash or advertising spam. Welcome to America, where the company with the most creative accountants win.
FunClown
I'm not actually too sure that TCP/MS will really take off. 1. Most webservers are *nix systems. 2. The *nix crowd don't like propreitory stuff like that. 3. Microsoft is beginning to realize that the average pc user is becoming smarter, however, there hopes of this is that we are dumb. 4. When will Microsoft learn that if they want people to buy a product it needs to be more than just something rehashed with a few more features and tweaks. Would this be analogous to having to buy JKII again but with the 1.03 patch? Or is that too extreme? OT: Looking foward to the dark forces mod!
