Mandalorian iTi
There was a earlier discussion about this and a while ago i was in a forum and this one guy, Clown Pants, said something i forgot about. here is his words "Yes, I think The earlier stormies were clones, and when they all died out, then they were recruited. Evidence for this is in The Thrawn Duology when I think it is Luke and Han (correct me if im wrong) stumble upon the katana fleet. When they go inside they find a bunch of dead stormtroopers, and they take of their helmets and discover that they are clones. So the clone trooper armor was probably a prototype for stomie armor, then when the clones ran out, they kept the stormie armor and recruited troopers. -Joel <>< " And that is what i belive also. MotionMan
Originally posted by ET Warrior And yet again, the EU rears it's massive head LMAO! There was A simmilar debate on this in a earlier thread in this forum about this. However it was devoid of EU jiberish:p I think the conclusion was that: The stormtroopers in the OT are not all clones. Some enlisted, but MOST of them are clones. *that was the conclusion right? Well that was my conclusion:)
ET Warrior
isn't the thrawn a trilogy? The specter of the past is a duology thoguh.......*urk* I agree, they enlist when they can, but the main force of stormies are clones. They really wouldn't run out of clones......i mean, Kamino is still there.........

shidobu
well, when the council is eliminated, and Obi-Wan and Yoda go into hiding, no one will be left who knows about Kamino and the clones there. [unless Dooku gets this info to Sidious, which is possible]. It is also likely that Yoda or one of the others who went to get the clones @ the end of EPII told the cloners to stop. Considering the ineptness of the stormtroopers compared to the l33tness of the clones, I doubt they are the same.
Norin Radd
I remember this debate. I got into a sort of heated exchange with somebody over DNA. Stormtroopers are clones, for the most part.
Jedi_Monk
Thrawn's books are still EU and even though Lucas kept Coruscant (though I have heard reports that Coruscant was a name supplied by Lucasfilm Licensing, though I don't know the source or how valid it is) and threw in a double-bladed lightsaber, few things from the EU impacts the movies. Also, the clones found on the Katana Fleet were supposed to be contemporary, not Republic era; they were Thrawn's clones from the Mount Tantiss facility. Zahn's take on the Clone Wars is completely different from what we're seeing in the movies.
ET Warrior
As to Shidobu's post....As the supreme Chancellor of the entire republic, i'm pretty sure that Palpatine would know where his clones were coming from. And it's entirely possible HE was the one who placed the order, if not him, then it was Dooku. And dooku would have told him.
Kyle d'Tana
The Emperor depoted them âll over the galaxie! Nebelwerfer_
Lucas didn't "keep" coruscant, he made it up and it was in the scripts, but never made it into the OT, it didnt need to be mentioned there.
Jaster21801
It was in RotJ: SE... At the very end you see Coruscant and people pulling down a statue of Palpatine.

Yeah, seeing as Palpatine and Dooku set up the whole conflict to transfer emergency powers to Palpitine, it's seems rather obvious that he knows about the army. It's quite possible that Palpatine posed as Sifa-Dias, or if Dooku posed then it's possible that Palpatine informed Dooku about Kamino...
