Have you tried running the server application as a service?

By the way, g_dismember IS the probability setting. If you set it to 1, then you have a 1% chance of dismemberment occuring. If you set it to 100, then you have a 100% chance of dismemberment occuring. That dismemberProbability cvar doesn't exist. Additionally, for a client to actually see the dismemberment, they (the client, not the server) needs to set either cg_dismember "1" or cg_dismember "2". 1 = partial dismemberment, and 2 = full dismemberment (ie decapitation, waist cuts).

EUREKA!!!

add "vstr d1" to the end of your rotation script and it should work.

// Map Rotation

set d1 "map ctf_yavin ; set nextmap vstr d2"

set d2 "map ffa_ns_hideout ; set nextmap vstr d3"

set d3 "map ctf_bespin ; set nextmap vstr d4"

set d4 "map ffa_ns_streets; set nextmap vstr d5"

set d5 "map duel_pit ; set nextmap vstr d6"

set d6 "map ffa_raven ; set nextmap vstr d7"

set d7 "map ffa_bespin ; set nextmap vstr d1"

vstr d1

I'd be surprised if that fixes the crashing problem. Just because you setup a rotation and don't use it doesn't cause a crash. That and I've worked with a few other w2k users who, despite a perfect rotation, still crash as soon as they call a map of any kind. If they start the server w/o a config and then type "map ffa_bespin" into the console, it'll immediately crash. Still interested to hear if running it as a service helps. I don't have an w2k box to experiment on.

What do you mean "as a service"?

In other words...IT WORKED...but I still I have a stupid little problem...I set it to ctf,it goes online with FFA!How can I stop that?

First off, I'm sure we'd all like to know just what you did that "fixed it". Regarding your rotation question where it switches to FFA, the reason is because you are loading FFA only maps. Change your rotation like so if you want CTF only.

set d1 "map ctf_yavin ; set nextmap vstr d2"

set d2 "map ctf_bespin ; set nextmap vstr d3"

set d3 "map ctf_imperial; set nextmap vstr d4"

set d4 "map ctf_ns_streets; set nextmap vstr d1"

vstr d1

As far as why you have trouble connecting. Is the server running on the same comp that you play from? If so, it's pretty much impossible for you to have such trouble--unless of course you mean you can't find it in the server list or you are trying to use your external ip address to connect when you are behind a router (instead of your internal ip).

You could specify the GAMETYPE when you call each map. I do that on my server to switch between FFA and Duels.

set d1 "set g_gametype 0; set g_forcePowerDisable "1168"; set fraglimit 20; set timelimit "20"; map ffa_bespin; set nextmap vstr d2"

set d2 "set g_gametype 3; set g_forcePowerDisable "147441"; set fraglimit 1; set timelimit "2"; map duel_training; set nextmap vstr d3"

set d3 "set g_gametype 0; set g_forcePowerDisable "1168"; set fraglimit 20; set timelimit "20"; map ffa_ns_hideout; set nextmap vstr d4"

set d4 "set g_gametype 3; set g_forcePowerDisable "147441"; set fraglimit 1; set timelimit "2"; map duel_carbon; set nextmap vstr d5"

set d5 "set g_gametype 0; set g_forcePowerDisable "1168"; set fraglimit 20; set timelimit "20"; map ffa_yavin; set nextmap vstr d6"

set d6 "set g_gametype 3; set g_forcePowerDisable "147441"; set fraglimit 1; set timelimit "2"; map duel_temple; set nextmap vstr d7"

set d7 "set g_gametype 0; set g_forcePowerDisable "1168"; set fraglimit 20; set timelimit "20"; map ffa_deathstar; set nextmap vstr d8"

set d8 "set g_gametype 3; set g_forcePowerDisable "147441"; set fraglimit 1; set timelimit "2"; map duel_jedi; set nextmap vstr d1"

vstr d1 //set the start map for custom rotation

Hey, I wanted to set my server to "run as a service" also but I was not sure on how to do that in Windows 2000. Could the person who suggested this give a tip on how this is done. I know in NT there was a utility that was on the resouce kit but win2k???

I read your quote just fine. However, in a later post you say that it is now working. For all I know, you went and looked it up and figured it out yourself. Alternatively, you did something else that made it work. Either way, we'd all like to know what it was.

Regarding the w2k service, I believe you use the w2k res kit to do exactly that.
