kfretz
just looking for a little insight on something i never really understood too well....what are the different forms of saber fighting (ie. Form VII, Form V), and who uses which one?
JangoFett41
what we know of so far Form I: I'm gonna guess on this one. This is probably Yoda's form ( he is the oldest). If so, it is a very aggresive and intense light saber style. Form II: Dooku use this elegant and masterful form. Best for fighting other Jedi Form III: This is basically laser deflection. It is more practical in this era. Obi Wan studies this rigourously. Form VII: This is the form Mace Windu studies. This style is almost a Dark style and they used info from a Sith Holocron to use this form. Goes right for the kill. more info later...
JangoFett41
I'm not sure but I thinmk this is another one. Form V: Anakin uses this strong style. This style focuses on using the maximum amount of power into the attacks of the Jedi. Leaves them open to attack but the swings are much stronger than most styles. Darth Joka'ar
Well, here is some info I found in other forum... Form I: No info, but they assume that this is a basic, form used by all jedi covered in EWP: Lightsabre Form II: Count Dooku uses this. It si a very ancient form that uses long elegant moves and deftness of hand. Form III: Is what Obi-Wan uses. Type 3 was invent to counter blaster weapons and focuses on high speed deflection of projectiles by the lightsaber. It is also the form that most Jedi use as it is the symbol of non-agressive fighting Form IV: Anakin learned this. This form uses powerful long blows to beat down opponents defences. Form V: The Dual-Lighsaber training, with a defensive focus. Form VI: Assuming this is Yoda's style, one which emphasizes fighting a larger opponent by using the force to give the Jedi exceptional maneuverability... Form VII: Mace Windu knows this. To master Form VII one must master the previous 6 Forms. This focuses so much on attack and has similaritites to Sith combat forms that the form is almost considered Taboo. I also posted it in Mace Vs. Tyranus
