Messenger
Ok, here is the thing, I'm trying to develope a new weapon. It is used the same as a lightsaber. It is more like an arabic sword being that it is curved and thicker. It needs to be an energy based weapon and turn on and off like a lightsaber. It's not a straight sword like lightsabers are. It's a heavier sword and it is curved. The question is this: Can a sword like this be made or doese it have to be straight like a regular lightsaber in order for you to turn it on or off? I noticed some sword mods but they didn't turn on or off but swords aren't meant to be switched on or off in the first place. If the blade itself would simply vanish instead of going inside the lightsaber, that's fine. I'm just wondering if this would be possible?
Madjai
i dont think so, but if it is i dont think it would have to do with modeling, probably coding or skinning
Andy867
Actually, I saw a mini-mod or something of that nature on either http://www.Jediknightii.net or http://www.Jk2files.com that had arabic weapons, like the Morgan Freeman's character used in the movie "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves". and it went perfect with the Persia level on http://www.jedioutcastmaps.com I know I am not imagining things, because I almost downloaded the saber-scathe mod, but thought, nah, would I really use it or care about it in the heat of the battle... Now model skins are a different story...
Harukaze
There are curved lightsabres already. Look on the files section of jediknightii.net, you'll find it in the sabers section. They're described as Samurai swords or Katana, cannot remember which. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I just woke up from a nap ^_^ I'm not sure how the guy did it, but the important thing is that it's curved and acts like a lightsaber... the question of how thick you can make them is beyond me though.
