Com Raven
well, there isn't much to report this time around, so I just translated a preview from german PC Games mag's latest issue for you... "Star Wars fans know the Old Republic only from tales- now they can finally travel back to the time when it all began Five movies, racks full of books and several boxes full of action figures - but no Roleplaying Game. Even though the unbelievable fleshed-out universe of Star Wars seems predestined for this genre. Finally, it seems as if George Lucas came to that same conclusion and decided to send Knights of the Old Republic, which is tailored for single-player fans, into the fray along with the Online RPG Galaxies. Development is being taken care of by Baldur's Gate-makers Bioware - a good choice for sure, as the canadians just showed their expertise with this kind of job again with Neverwinter Nights. The story is set 4000 years prior to the first appereances of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and company. It centers around the biggest conflict between the noble Jedi and the evil Sith to date. The up to 3 members of your party are recruited from such exotic classes as smuggler, bounty hunter or gambler. Unfortunately, Bioware is so far pretty tight-lipped about any further plot details; it's sure though that you will later in the game visit known locals such as Tatooine, and that the story plays out different on both sides of the conlict. Combat is in real-time, but can be paused at any time to allow for the use of some fantastic animated special attacks- even lightsaber duels will be possible. The range of enemys is big: battle droids, aliens and of course Jedi who succumbed to the dark side of the force. Talking of Jedi: A Star Wars game without some special Jedi powers would be boring, and so you can go for your enemys with the beloved purge and lighting. All this unfolds- similar to Gothic- from a chase-cam point of view, the character models already look impressive." K, so my two cent: - be careful about the mentioned classes, none of the are actually in the game! Gambler, Smuggler and Bounty Hunter are all possible professions forthe same class, the Scoundrel. - not to be mistaken: you just recruit 2 more guys beside your main character for your party - Battle Droids doesn't refer to the ones seen in the Prequels, but is to be understood in a general sense. - Gothic was just mentioned because it's a german game, and it's wildly popular around here. - I have a pretty bad headache, so if you find any spelling mistakes, just point me to them... - Hope you had some fun with it, thought it might be better than nothing. Darth Damage
can the two other members of your party be jedi??? that would be cool to fight along side some other jedi in battle!
Com Raven
look at the npc section on knights.com.... seriously, there's wasn't any hint on jedi npcs so far...
Sith Inquisitor
In one of the screenshots on the official site, you are standing next to a female who is shown wielding a lightsaber in some of the other screenshots, so I'm thinking that there will be atleast 1 more Jedi in your party. Com Raven
few things to think about: - she could as well be a npc who doesn't join you... - she could be a player character in those other shots... - you could be right...
Sith Inquisitor
That's a good point. I didn't think about the fact that you may be able to play the female as the main character, because all the promotion shots and the trailer show the man. That would be good if they gave you a choice.

covenant_bad
I think it would be a bit unlikely that u could have other jedi in your 'team', as this would play a large part in the story line as they would aid you in battle and how would their 'alignment' (black and white term) differ to yours if you became a sith or dark jedi if thats avalible? i think its more likely that there will be npcs that join you on special missions and quests. just my 2 cents
Com Raven
well, in BG you could have guys of different alignment.... nothing like having a evil drow cleric and a good paladin argue oevr your actions...
