How do ppl create characters?

hey everyone i wanna know how to create characers for multiplayer or singleplayer. do i use editing tools or what? if somoene could tell me that would be great.

well, what do you mean? new skins, new models, what?

 

for a character all you need is a story

 

to get them to show up in game, you either have to make a new model (and skin it), or make a new skin on an existing model

 

the easiest thing for a new person is probably skinning (im just saying easier cuz the tools are more availible - good skins take time and skill)

You meen how do ppl make multiplayer bots and soforth?

 

Well to start off find the Software Development Kit (SDK) for JO.

Its avilible on many Jedi Knight/JO sites.

Once you have that look for tutorials on the subject

(I think it actualy has a tutorial for skinning in it.)

Or come back here and ask for more specific help.

 

BTW if you are a real newbie (no offence we all are sometime )

a player MODEL is the set of polygons that make up a charecters

3-D body. A Skin is the group of textures that get put on that body

like a skin (hence the name) and make it look real, give it all its coloring

etc.

 

The general wisdom is that it is much easyer to make new skins

than it is to make new models. In fact while there are many

skins for download we are only new starting to see new models show up.
