ThePeople'sJedi
Don't get me wrong. I thought this aspect of the movie did a somewhat decent job, though it did seem rushed. Anakin and Padme care for each other at the end of TPM, but don't see each other again for another 10 years. Obviously Anakin has been thinking of her everyday since he left to begin training. I think if they added a scene where after they meet again for the first time, they show Padme lying in her bed (before the 2nd attempt on her life) holding the pendant/necklace Anakin gave her in TPM. I think having her still wearing it would've shown that she too was always thinking of Anakin and would've added to the overall love story. So what do you think could have been added to make the love story better? Talk amongst yourselves.
Kyle d'Tana
It is very good. It is a good lovestory! I mean it is only a part of the film, and for that, its well!!!
Zindell
It's a good enough love story for me, I don't need a torrid romance if I wanted that I'd go see a chic-flick.
Exar Kun II
I think the love story was good enough. I don't believe anyone wanted to see TITANIC in space. Besides, the movie had to develop other plotlines within the story. Anakin and Padme were just a part of the picture.
ET Warrior
Well they could have shown a scene right after the wedding.....if you know what i mean....... I thought it was kind of cheesy, but i didn't want a lot of romance and whatnot, it's star wars after all. Good enough how it was methinks

Jedi_Monk
I don't think Lucas overlooked the pendant Anakin gave Padme, I think he was making a statement by showing that she didn't have it. I think it shows that Padme really didn't care that much about Anakin... she was humoring this little kid who complimented her and who'd just lost contact with his mother. She thought she'd never see him again. I think she was humoring him most of AotC, too... I don't think she ever loves him. Someone said the romance in AotC was just shallow teen lust (they said this as if it's a monstrous thing). I don't think it was meant to be anything else. Two young people who've never had real relationships (Anakin had been fantasising about Padme for 10 years and Padme hadn't had a crush on a boy since before she became Queen, so she must've been at most 13) alone with eachother, both wanting eachother, getting everything confused. Then, Anakin slips into the Dark Side and she feels for him enough to want to save him and if that means marrying him then okay. We all know the marriage doesn't last long, anyway. Maybe that's part of Lucas' statement, too: don't rush into things or else you'll come to a bad end. Good message.
AgentSmith
Very good theory Jedi Monk. But what's also possible is that Anakin and Padme simply love each other and nearly always have. As if from the moment they met (Epsiode I) there was something deeper, a hint towards their fate, yet still only the small seeds of their future emotions. Somehow those deep rooted emotions stayed with them and when they met under adverse circumstances (Ep II) and were faced with the harshest times the universe and their lives had seen yet their emotions blossomed an dthough both they knew there were risks and possibly repercussions they chose to take a chance. Who says they both do not really deeply love each other? It's possibly, which makes it very epic and dramatic that they do love each other with all their hearts and it tears them apart because it clashes with most of what they know and who they are but they just can't help themselves or change how they feel. Love goes beyond logic. It happens in real life situations as well, such similar and to others seemingly odd and unlikely love-struck couples. I think it's possibly Lucas wanted to show that they really do love one another and that it will tear them apart. Their love is true, they can't help nor change it, not even explain why they do love each other. They just know and feel they do. That kind of love exists, love isn't always logical ... when is it logical? Maybe their love should be a bit like the Force -was until EP I midichlorians- is, always a bit defying, mysterious and never truly explained, but there beyond a doubt. Exar Kun II
Anakin and Padme made a honeymoon video on Naboo. George Lucas is thinking about including it in the extras on the AOTC DVD. Cool.
AgentSmith
Not care what others think you should ET Warrior. Jealousy, envy, fear, ... the Dark Side are they. Compassion, peace, serenity ... such is the Jedi's path. For those who didn't get the Yoda-type metaphores I just mean that many people, originating from their feelings of inadequacy, jealousy (ect...) will see the need to try and ridicule, diss, flame and set themselves as superior to people with passion for Star Wars (or Star Trek, Anime, sci-fi, fantasy ... for that matter) and that we as true fans and open minded people should try and realise this, hence not care what such people think of us or say to us. It can be hard that is true, but in the end we have passion, our beliefs, we can look in the mirror every morning and such people will eventually succumb or be a prey to their own closed mindset.
