Commander 598
It is a simple measure, does taking out a factory and the deaths of civilians, mean less deaths overall? Generally when you destroy ammunition factories it takes away the ability for that country to wage war. Of course it also helps to blockade them so no weapons can be shiped in. Admiral Odin
Which would mean less deaths overall, hence the destruction of the factories.
Tierce
I could be wrong, but doesn't Hussien build his ammunition factories right next to schools and hospitals? So if we did decide to bomb military targets we would be also destroying civilian targets which would further tarnish are image in Arab world
Commander 598
AC130 Spectre Gunships. In Panama friendly troops were within 30 meters of an area being obliterated by a Spectre. And not a one was even hit with a a ricochet.
Admiral Odin
Yes and he keeps women and children in his bunkers. Civilians losses can't be prevented only diminished. If we let those factories go, then others will get the idea and then were would we be?
Taarkin
Instead of leaflets, sprinkle them with copies of Sadam's orders to herd civies into military targets.
