Upgraded to 1.04 Now Server Halts (Linux)

Ok I used to host a 1.03 server fine until the 1.04 patch came out and now it will not run. When I try and run the server it usually just hangs at above 90% CPU usage. I uploaded the new jk2ded executable, and put the assets5.pk3 file in the base dir (the assets2.pk3 was already there since I was running 1.03). I changed permissions so it's executable and try to run things exactly the same way except it halts now and I get hitch warnings.

Did an strace when running it and here's what it gets:

recvfrom(7, 0x833bde0, 16384, 0, 0xbfffb86c, 0xbfffb868) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)

gettimeofday({1026490614, 339546}, {480, 0}) = 0

select(1, [0], NULL, NULL, {0, 0}) = 0 (Timeout)

any help would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this has been posted before, however I've been searching for a while without finding any resolution.

Thanks for offering your help, I finally figured it out. I guess I tweaked the server.cfg file and accidentally took out the map ffa_bespin line. So it would hang because it didn't know what map to start with. Yes, I'm an idiot. I apologize...
