Nerevar
I don't know how many times I've tried to unintsall my current drivers and install the newest ones, but every time @#$@*$windows XP reinstalls the old ones! They just WILL NOT BE COMPLETELY REMOVED! WHY does this happen? How can I get the damn drivers off of there for good so I can install the new ones? Nerevar
Yeah, I tried just installing the new ones, but for some reason, the old ones are always back. when I check out the drivers in the device manager it says: "Driver Provider: M$ Driver Date: 7/1/2001 Driver Ver: 5.1.2001.0" Now that means that it's the standard WinXP driver right? Sith Maximus
Got to http://www.guru3d.com and get detonator destroyer. This will remove your old drivers and all assosiated files. Now go into safe mode and remove your current drivers. Dot his by removing them from the remove list but DO NOT LET THE COMPUTER REBOOT. When this is done select NO and run det destroyer. Then hit det destroyer reboot. Now go back into safe mode and install your new driver. If it tries to reinstall the old drivers right click on the little icon and tell it you will install the drivers yourself. Give it a try. You can turn off the plug and play detector in XP if all else fails. Look into the help file for that section. Good luck.
