BSP Lighting is taking forever. Can somone take a look?

Hi all

 

Could somone please take a look at the sp map attached below. It's currently taking way too long BSP. I mean about 4 hours or somthing and it's only small.

 

I think I've followed all the rules (caulk everything, change brushes to detail exept those that touch the void).

 

Could somone take a look and let me know if they come up with a solution that would make the map run a little quicker?

i can't compile it to test cuz I'm at work, but I'd guess a lot of it comes from that huge round tower you have, as well as the truly massive box you have surrounding the map.

 

i have no idea what you're trying to do but if you just want a floating platform somewhere make the box with the sky shader on it much, much smaller and it should help.

 

What is that brush with the 'outside' texture intended to accomplish?

The tower shouldnt affect it that much should it?

 

Hard to say. First thing I thought when I loaded the map up in gtkradiant was 'holy cow what's that up there'.

 

Fix your skybox first then see how it goes. It shouldn't need to be much larger than a few units than the actual map.
