horton
I have just installed JK2 and am not getting the FPS I was hoping for. I have a Athlon 2000, GeForce 4 4600, 512mb PC2700 and Windows XP. I get 125FPS on Quake3 max graphics options 1600x1200, I get 100-125FPS on Soldier of Fortune 2 max graphics options 1600x1200. I got about 30FPS on JK2 (single player)1600x1200 max graphics options, I turned it down to 1280x1024 and 16bit colour and got about 50-60FPS. I think I should be getting loads more FPS than this, am I right? I couldnt find a hunkmegs setting in the config file , is there one? what tweaks can I do in order to get a playable FPS at least 100 in a decent resolution. I dont realy want to run less than 1600 if possible. help

Sith Maximus
Yes you can set your megs with this line: setcom_hunkmegs "(no more than 2/3 mem here)" I have 512 mem and I use 220 on all my gaes. As far as running in high resolution the only things I can suggest are to make sure that fsaa is turned off in your driver tab. You can run high fsaa settings in quake with a Geforce 3 or 4 and still get in the 100fps range at 1600/1200. Also you may want to turn off anistropic filtering in the game menu and use your drivers, or a video card utility like Riva tuner from http://www.guru3d.com, to force the 4tap setting. If the game is installed right you should get high fps. I run a 1333/Geforce 3 TI200 (220/500)/RAID-0 setup and I get around 70fps at 1600x1200 with these settings. If that does not work change the very high detail setting to high and the to 8tap filtering. Good luck this game is a monster to run in sp!
