2x duel servers on 1 machine => crash

I'm running 5 gameservers on the same machine, 2 of them run the same game mode (duel).

These 2 keep crashing, the other 3 never crash. Both configs have different filenames, servernames, mapcycle files, statfiles and logfiles. Yet for some reason, they seem to kick each other out all the time (several times a day).

Any ideas WHAT part of the config might do this? I also got 1.5meg serverlogs to look at for each.. but don't know what to look for :/ (scrolling and reading the whole thing is not an option, would take hours over hours).

I'd be very gratefull for any hints

thanks in advance

edit: they DO run on their own port each of course.

Hi.

How close are the ports from duel1 to duel2 ?

Try to use as simple config as possible, and control that they run ok.

Then add some more features, and then you can maybe find out what is wrong....it will take some time, but you will succed :)

You are welcome to try my duel cfg, they are quite simple and stable, runs on 14 duel-servers.

I've been running 6 duel servers on the same machine. Make sure you have enough memory for all of them. They take up about 150 megs memory each I believe.

I also suggest having each server in its own directory. Like "Lucasarts1", "Lucasarts2" and so forth.

As for the servers crashing, just have them running on a batch file that reloads it if it crashes. You can find that on the stricky thread about dedicated servers.

Yes, you should have multiple copies of it, such as:

C:\Program Files\LucasArts

C:\Program Files\LucasArts2

C:\Program Files\LucasArts3

C:\Program Files\LucasArts4

C:\Program Files\LucasArts5

C:\Program Files\LucasArts6

I noticed by doing this, it prevents several crashing issues with servers conflicting with each other such as file writing and reading.
