oscarwilde
I have been looking all over the website for information on how to measure the performance of JK OUTCAST out the web, and I have found nothing. I recently purchased a P4 2.0 Northwood ASUS P4B533 MSI GF4 TI 4400 512 MB DDR RAM MAXTOR 7200 RPM 60 GB Without changing any settings (tweaks) for my card or system...I set JK Demo to High Quality and executed the cg frames command and it seemed to be going at between 70-100 FPS...but that was only at 800x600 32 bit...I am not sure if I know what I am doing. I have been out of the PC performance loop since P2 300, and I want to get an accurate (as far as benchmarks go) of my PC's performance, especially JK Outcast. I ran 3DMArk SE 2001 and got a rating of 9400 @ 1024x768 32 bit or something. Can anyone help me with JK and perhaps other measurement software. I am really interested to know if JK can be benched, and I would like to see what my performance on the game is, as well as if my machine is performing to it's peak. Thanks very much. teleguy
Create a shortcut to jk2mp.exe, go to properties and add +set sv_cheats 1 +set timedemo 1 +demo jk2ffa to the commandline. ( Mine looks like this : "E:\Programme\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\jk2mp.exe" +set sv_cheats 1 +set timedemo 1 +demo jk2ffa ) . To run a timedemo doubleclick on this shortcut. After the demo open the console (shift + key left to 1) and scroll up (with page up) to view your result. oscarwilde
Thanks, I installed JK2, patched it with 1.03, created the shortcut and ran the jk2faa demo. With High Detail, only thing changed was 1024x768 I received 99.6 FPS. At 640x480 I received 100.00. I know this sounds like a stupid question but are those good results considering I haven't done any modifications to the graphic car, or Windows XP or anything...out of the box results as they say? Input please. Thanks
oscarwilde
Oh yeah, and the results seem to match with Tom Hardware link, thanks. The only thing is in the text he was running a Athlon 2100, and I am running a P4 2.0 512k. Should I quibble?
