omg gmax modeling help PLEASE

ok in this tutorial:

it says that for the sizing, you should import the saber from the jk2 game. so i extract it from the pk3, and goto import. i select SHOW ALL FILES, and try to import but it wont let me, becuase its not a valid file (md3). What is the problem?

Gmax on its own cannot import MD3 files. You need an import/export script. I suggest you download the Tempest Gamepack for Quake 3 (found on Gmax's website) as it can import and export md3 files for you....
