ViNYL_VeNGeaNCe
I decided to upload some screenshots of my new duel map. Its my first map, so its not the best. Plus I'm new to mapping..... Anyway, this map will eventually be a full scale SP map as well. I figured I would release this duel map though to see how people like it. I am accepting beta test requests as well. Contact me either by PM or email If you are interested in beta testing it. This map takes place at a Sith tomb honoring a fallen Sith Lord from the days of the Old Republic. This map also takes place at night to add to the creepy effect. ViNYL_VeNGeaNCe
idontlikegeorge, I might still tweak the lighting, but my brightness was kinda low when i took the screens. That sucks about MP, but oh well, its not like you play it anyway. BTW you can load it up in SP to take a look at the brightness, but the stone door sounds wont work. [/b] if you wanted to give the map a good story you could somehow make it the tomb of darth maul, fallen sith lord, i sure you could get the darth maul model cut into a torso and legs pieces and put in a glass box sort of like a coffin in the center of the tomb. would be very cool. ViNYL_VeNGeaNCe
Thanks guys. I've been using JK2Radiant. Vertex editing is Horrible. anyway I heard GTKradiant is better for vertex editing, so I might start using GTK. I also hate the key binds in JK2 Radiant and i heard you can change them in GTK. I hope thats true because I really want get into JK2 mapping, but my momentum is so slow because of the way the commands are mapped. Everything seems to take double the time it should. Isn't that right, idontlikegeorge:p
idontlikegeorge
yeah, i got gtkradiant and i like it better already; besides the overall setup, (its spread out compared to jkradiant, where everything was contained in the tools dir) but anyway, in gtkradiant i got the ui to look as close to worldcraft as i could, and just that familiarity gives me a better feeling about it - its just so mental i havent found how to rebind the keys yet tho; and also, the NPC entity drop-down menu doesnt all show unless yer running at 1280x res theres always gotta be something BTW this is technically vinyl's second map; i was impressed with the first one too; hey man maybe you can clean that one up and put that into the SP story once you develop it further ps call me after work tommarow (wed.) (hehe i know youll read this there, cubicle rat! )
ViNYL_VeNGeaNCe
Yeah I loaded up this map in GTK and my swamp water disappeared. Then I couldn't get it to work again. I ended up going back to JK2radiant and did some copying and pasting from an older save. I'm gonna load it up in GTK again and mess with it some more. From what i saw in GTK, I like it better than JK2. Hopefully I can get it working right. And whats with the npc entity menu? No little scroll arrow like JK2? Dammit, now im going to have to run in 1280 res just to work on my maps in GTK!
Locke101
does anyones GTK Radiant compile not work??? Because in my GTK Radiant the compile stops after it writes the .bsp. Whats wrong!!!
