I have tried this on my server and couldn't get it to work, so I thought it wasn't possible. If you can do this, can you please tell me, I would like to run the Vulcanadmin mod with the Duel_SE mod. The mod stuff gets even more unclear to me. As far I know, u cannot start 2 mods at the same time. I also know, that all mods are pk3 files (at least the once i have seen). So if the above quoted is correct - should this work on every mod? Is there any expert on mods out here? Thanks for any hint and light. Elsar Posted July 23, 2002 Author Share Posted July 23, 2002 well no, this is not a mod like u think... it is not something u would see in the setup menu,mods section, it is simply an enhancment to the game that doesn't need to be loaded from the start... the game treats this like a saber hilt, or a skin... the main thing is that it works! i load up a JediMod Server and without doing anything but putting the saberist file in my base folder,the game is JediMod with the modifications of saberist which is just animation changes mind u.. and it works great! NITEMARE Posted July 23, 2002 Share Posted July 23, 2002 well elsar i dont assume that u are a coder. i am neither but managed to put a small mod toghether tho. and i can assure that its not possible to put 2 mods in your base directory to combine them. because what the pk3 consits is normaly a qvm file which overrides the one in the assetso.pk3 ! and if this mod is laid out to be kopied into the base folder then it sucks. its better to make a mod directory outside base like i did. otherwise it colides with mods like u104 heh... crazyplaya73 Posted July 24, 2002 Share Posted July 24, 2002 Well I have it running on my DUEL server for a test. It works but one thing that sucks is that it does not autodownload to the client. If they dont have the file they dont have the enhancements. People with the file do have the enhancements. That's not fair. Yes I know they can get the file but it should autodownload it. And yes it works with the DUEL_SE mod. I think I like it but I don't like the new DFA for medium stance. But I like the faster backsweeps and the strong stance changes. Elsar Posted July 24, 2002 Author Share Posted July 24, 2002 well i am not a coder...but i am an Electronics Eng. so i know a thing or two about pc. now again i am saying this mod DOES work with other mods.. the best thing to do is to see it for ur self... go here http://www.jediknightii.com and get it! the one problem with this mod is that u cant get it from the server u can still connect but if un dont have the saberist mod than u will not get the addons of it ,but u still could play the primary mod... it works just like a saber hilt does...if u have it u see it, if u dont u dont see it, but the main thing is u could still play! That's what I was thinking NITEMARE, so i downloaded the mod just now and it doesn't appear to have any qvm files. Image duel_se, jedimod, admin mod, and saborist mod all in one. That would make one kick azz mod if you ask me. I still have saborist mod running with duel_se. We had a great game last night. 6 player's in FFA. It started out with lots of duels and ended with a massive slaughter! Man it was fun. I am getting used to the new medium finisher and the new red spinning move. Are there any other moves in there I should know about. I'm still unclear as to how it works when some people have the mod and others don't. They see me doing the normal yellow DFA but I see myself doing the new downward stab move? Nuke Posted July 26, 2002 Share Posted July 26, 2002 Well it seems that it is not a mod in some sense. You could call it an enhancement or a cheat. Cheat because you can use it while others dont. But in another sense you might like to call only those things a cheat, that can only be used if cheats are enabled. Elsar Posted July 31, 2002 Author Share Posted July 31, 2002 well the answer to your so called "ques" about why should it a be a mod is simple , if it was to be A mod than u wouldn't be able to use it in conjunction with other Mods , the great thing about this is that u can use all the great animations and stuff with this patch and combine it with let say a great Mod like JediMod 2.2++ so the best thing to do is just to run a mod and see what i am talking about....
