Cmon guys this looks extremely promising, you'll kick yourselves if it gets really popular and you wer'nt a part of it:)

I'm currently looking for 2 mappers, 3 modelers and 1 coder to work on a Total Conversion of Jedi Knight 2. It will be a non-starwars based TC with many promissing features.

 

I'm looking for

one weapons/items modeler

one team tango modeler (player models)

one t7 subject modeler (player models)

2 mappers and 1 coder.

I like the idea although unfortunatly i'm caught up in my own project at the moment:(

 

I like the idea of a realistic non star wars based mod:D

 

Oh what the hell sighn me up for a mapper:D

 

I'm picturing a kind of atmospheric military installation kind of thing

 

check my sig for some screens of my work.

 

But are 2 mappers gonna be enough?

Not being negative or anything: But I do havbe a question: What's the point? Are you making Outcast like MOH or RTCW--or more like CS?

 

What will a TC of Outcast give you?

 

Lightsaber combat?

 

These are real questions--I am not flaming being negative or anything--just curious.

A TC is a Total Conversion, u throw away every aspect of JK2 and basicly make a whole new game out of it;

well, i think that people buy JK2 cuz it is set in the SW universe; however, on the same note, a mod/tc for jk2 that is not set in the SW universe could be refreshing

 

one thing im not sure of, is the storyline seems to limit the environments availible - i mean, would the maps need to be confined to the research facility?

 

i wouldnt mind mapping for this also, although it would be secondary mapping for me - maybe count me as a "spare" mapper if you want to

no the maps arent limited to the research facility, think about the gameplay mode assasination; where team tango needs 2 protect a vip in his luxorious mansion, or playing in the compounds of the of StarLabs's rival.

I know what a TC is--but if your going to de-Star-Wars it...what's the point? Why dont you use RTCW--its engine is much more suited to...oh never mind--have fun, thats what it's all about = )

lol that's the whole point of a TC :D. The Dangerroom gametype, well think about the danger room the x-men have :x

This is just my opinion but personally i feel that this is suited to JK2.

 

Yes it is like counterstrike, BUT, in a much more modern sci-fi kind of way.

 

I cant speak for subject 452 but i'm picturing a futuristic kind of military thing. Similar to the marines in aliens for instance.

 

And i believe that with some good level desighn, some good balance between teams, and some cool weapons and charector desighn, that we'll have a real hit on our hands.:)

x-men aint my thing, so i dont get that analogy at all

 

yeah this does sound cool; and about de-starwars-ing JO, well thats good too, cuz i aint planning on buying any other q3 games anytime soon; so i think a non-SW tc would be refreshing

 

also, look at it: the psionics team; how would you do that well in other games? jo already has that concept in force powers

But no, that is NOT what a TC is about-- = )

 

Yes, it is about throwing away everything and making something totally new--but it keeps the main point of the game.

 

For example: In Age of Kings we would throw away just about everything and make an RPG for a TC--but when a battle came up it would have the same aspects of AOK.

 

In Jedi Outcast you would throw away everything but the lightsaber combat--because thats what makes it the game.

 

In Return to Castle Wofenstien you would keep the guns--and those neat overheating effects.

 

And In MOHAA, you would throw away absolutely everything and try and turn it into some other game cecause it has nothing that stands out.

 

But note: I am looking forward to anything that expands this game--and gives me more for my money.
